I have reviewed the scene of El's disappearance frame by frame, and this is what I observed.

1:16:23 As Bradley Big Buy's truck passes through the Gate, we see a Hedgehog to our right, next to the Gate, and an armed soldier behind it. This detail is crucial.

1:16:30 We see another Hedgehog to our left next to the Gate, another one to its left, both with armed soldiers behind them, and yet another on top of a military vehicle. In total, four Hedgehogs.

1:16:32 We see Eleven inside the truck holding onto Mike. This means she hasn't jumped out of the truck or anything like that with the intention of staying behind in the Upside Down, as Kali suggested.

1:16:33 The soldiers approach the truck, forming a tight cordon. Hopper and Murray's Humvee is to the left of the truck (driver's side), less than two meters away. It's impossible to pass through without being seen.

1:16:38 The soldiers approach the truck's cab. We see a wide shot where we can see that the vehicle with the Hedgehog is to the right of the truck, very close by. Kay approaches the vehicle with the Hedgehog. There are soldiers everywhere surrounding the truck. It's impossible to get out of the truck without being seen by them.

1:16:39 Soldiers to the left, to the right, and behind the truck.

1:16:43 At least a dozen soldiers are pointing their guns at our protagonists at point-blank range.

1:16:45 El is still inside the truck. A soldier grabs Mike as he gets out, and Mike protests.

1:16:46 Kay watches the scene with satisfaction.

1:16:47 EL IS GETTING OUT OF THE TRUCK. A soldier is pointing a gun at her from the Jeep with the Hedgehog, and another is pointing his weapon at her. A soldier is touching El, perhaps grabbing her. There are more soldiers very close by. We don't see El again until she appears at the Gate.

1:16:48 Hopper is forced out of the Humvee by a soldier.

1:16:49 We see soldiers near the left side of the truck (driver's side). If El ran toward the Gate on this side, the soldiers would have necessarily seen her and stopped her instantly.

1:16:50 Murray is forced out of the Humvee. This moment is obviously simultaneous with 1:16:48.

1:16:52 Steve is forced out of the truck.

1:16:53 Holly and the children get out of the truck.

1:16:55 Soldiers everywhere. We see Melvald's store in the background. Nancy tries to help Holly but is pushed against the truck (right side, passenger side).

1:16:56 Max, Vicky, and a soldier watch the scene. It's unclear where they are.

1:17:00 Hopper gets out of the Humvee. This moment is a direct continuation of 1:16:48, obviously. It's important to note that the scene shows both simultaneous and successive moments. Reaction shot: we see the Hedgehog in the military vehicle and the one to the right of the Gate. We don't see Eleven at the Gate or running towards it.

1:17:03 Very quick shot: we see Steve and Robin being held at gunpoint by the soldiers (Hopper's point of view). An obvious continuation of 1:16:52; it would be almost immediate, but the time has been lengthened to show us more action. He looks at the Jeep. We don't see Eleven.

1:17:06 Kay is next to the Jeep. She looks in all directions, including towards the Gate. She doesn't see Eleven, neither at the Gate nor running towards it.

1:17:09 Hopper's point of view: he looks towards the Gate. Eleven isn't there. It's then that Kay, judging by her reaction, realizes that Eleven has disappeared.

1:17:13 Mike looks around. From his position, the Gate was in his field of vision. He doesn't see El at the door or running toward it. He asks Dustin if he's seen her.

1:17:15 Dustin looks around and doesn't see her either.

1:17:19 A sergeant looking in all directions, including the Gate, also doesn't see El.

1:17:26 Dustin looks in the same direction as the sergeant. He doesn't see El either, neither at the Gate nor running toward it.

1:17:32 This is the moment we first see El at the Gate. Our point of view is Mike's, as he's the first to see her.

1:17:37 Dustin looks in the same direction as before and now he sees her (he hadn't seen her before), as can be seen from his reaction.

1:17:40 Mike runs towards the Gate and is stopped instantly. He was running towards the military vehicle with the Hedgehog on top of him. This detail is important because it tells us that Eleven must have run in this direction as well. How come the military didn't see her run but did see Mike?

Then comes the scene of the Void.

1:20:06 Nancy calls Mike and tries to run towards him. Jonathan reacts. Neither of them seems to have seen Eleven yet.

1:20:15 We see Hopper react to Eleven's presence at the Gate (he didn't seem to have seen her before). We clearly see an armed soldier behind the Hedgehog next to the Gate. He doesn't seem to have realized that Eleven is supposedly just a few meters away.

1:20:17 Kay looks towards the Gate. From her reaction, it seems that this is when she sees Eleven there for the first time.

1:20:19 Joyce looks toward the Gate. Same observation as before.

1:20:20 Robin and Steve look toward the Gate. Same observation as before.

1:20:22 Close-up of Eleven. We see that her nose isn't bleeding.

1:20:25 Will reacts, as if he had seen Eleven at the door at that moment.

1:20:27 Lucas yells, "Eleven, no!"

1:20:53 The fireball generated by the bomb dissipates. We see that the lab is still intact (it is a very quick shot but this is indisputable).

1:20:54 Light envelops Eleven (I have a feeling that in the initial plan she disappeared here; at least that's what happens in the later Dungeons & Dragons playthrough with the Mage).

1:21:30 Even though we see the hurricane-force wind behind her, El is standing as if nothing is happening, showing no signs of making an effort to stay upright.

1:21:43 El turns his palms towards us. It can be clearly seen (if the screen is large) that his "011" tattoo has disappeared (Note that Millie has that tattoo in real life). The wind surrounds her but doesn't seem to affect her.

1.21:45 The camera zooms in on El's face, which suddenly disappears, replaced by the hurricane-force wind. We don't see the wind carry her away (as it did in the script), only that she vanishes.

The conclusion of this analysis is, I believe, indisputable: it was impossible for Eleven to have made it from the truck to the Gate so quickly—a span of 45 seconds of airtime, though in reality it was far less, as the scene’s timing is stretched out, as I have detailed—without anyone seeing her, and with four Hedgehogs active. Even if we don't accept Mike's explanation, it still remains to be explained how Eleven managed to do that. And I don't buy explanations like "it was dark" (it wasn't; there were powerful floodlights) or "they didn't realize it was her running" (her wetsuit made her unmistakable, even from a great distance).

This, by the way, will be the only thing I rewatch from the fifth season.

I really liked s2’s look. Her short curly voluminous hair popped her features, styled with overall jeans I and 80s clothing. Also “bitchin” style at the end was amazing

Wanting more than just the main show and now I’m eyeing up all the specials and spinoffs. Which ones are worth watching, and which ones should be skipped? All the images are ones that I’m currently most interested in, but other suggestions are welcome! The most important thing for me is consistency, with lore and mainly with characterization. Of course I don’t expect all the book events to be references from the main show, but massive inconsistencies are gonna bother me. What do you guys think? Please let me know!

I mean Will’s defining moment that unlocked his powers happened because of Robin’s speech and because Mike encouraged him (called him a sorcerer) in the field scene. Joyce even said prior to that scene that some people just need someone to believe in them which was alluding to the scene that followed directly after where Mike encourages Will essentially believing in him.

Will’s memories included his mother, brother and Mike. He unlocks his power thinking of his family and Mike. Do you know how powerful that is? He loves him so much regardless of it is platonic or romantic.

Every season the both of them have very emotional and impactful scenes together that actually drive the plot forward.

Season 1 was all about Will’s disappearance and Mike was one of the people who was desperate to find him. He even lashed out to El when he realized she might have known where he was. When they discovered Will’s body Mike was one of the few characters the show deliberately focused on and showed us his reaction. He had that impactful scene where he went home and cried to his mother.

Season 2 was all about their bond and Mike being there for him while he’s being tortured possessed and taken over. They have so many significant scenes in this season that’s it’s hard to pin point just one but I’d say the “crazy together” scene is one of the most important because both of them open up to each other emotionally in a way they don’t do to other people. The scene where Mike helps break Will out of possession while recounting the first day they met is a significant plot scene as well especially since it becomes relevant again in s5. The entirety of this season is plot relevant for their friendship since Mike is the one who figures out that Will is the spy and is there to emotionally support him.

Season 3 was a huge shift in their friendship and this is where cracks began to form. Mike was having trouble juggling his friendships with his newfound relationship. Everyone was pissed that he kept ditching them, it wasn’t just Will. Dustin was mad as well and called it bullshit. It’s why he became closer to Steve. The show chose to focus on Will’s pain because it was more relevant to his character progression. He was going through complex emotions of being closeted, PTSD and losing his childhood. The rain fight is such a powerful and relevant scene because people discuss it to this day. That scene is so complex and nuanced and ultimately was to let the audience know subtly that Will was gay. This is probably the scene that affected their friendship forever tbh. It was never the same after this.

Season 4 is a direct continuation of s3’s breakdown of their friendship and shows them growing apart due to the distance. The both of them do not know how to deal with it either. Will shuts down and lets the resentment fester, while Mike is oblivious and distant because of Will’s inaction. Their entire storyline this season revolves around their friendship and them repairing it. They have multiple scenes where they argue, make up and encourage each other. Will makes the ultimate sacrifice and gives Mike the courage to tell El I love you under the guise of his own feelings. He simultaneously gives him a confident boost by calling him a leader and the heart of the party. This is probably the most emotionally impactful scene Will has and is very plot relevant because it directly leads to Mike having the confident to tell El he loves her and not being as insecure as he was.

I already highlighted s5 earlier so I won’t go over that again. Their friendship is 100% important and is baked into the fabric of the show. I hate that fandom wars has gotten people to downplay their friendship and how important it is to the narrative. The writers wouldn’t waste five whole seasons of screen time on them if it wasn’t important. They have more screen time with each other than Mike has with his family.

Every October I'd rewatch Stranger Things, it was such an Autumn/Fall watch tucked up on the sofa with a big blanket watching as they cycled through those autumnual landscapes.

Now having watched the finale knowing what I know, I am so irked by the ending that I almost can't enjoy the first few series as much as I did.

I feel like the magic that was there was totally bled dry and I am just getting ever closer to the series getting worse and worse with each season. Genuinely still so gutted about that finale.

Someone was giving away this giant Stranger Things 3 movie poster for FREE, so naturally I hauled ass to go get it.

I came home grinning from ear to ear, walked into the bedroom with it, and informed my husband that I was putting it on the fireplace at the foot of our bed.

Him: “The hell you’re putting that over our bed.”

Me: immediately climbs onto bed and puts it over our bed

It’s been there for about six months now.

Our king-size bed is also literally wall-to-wall on three sides of this rectangular room, so every night when we climb into bed, this is the exact view over our feet.

Guess who won. 🤣

Hi guys! Been a minute since I posted here. So for months since the series ended I been doing a ton of research trying to understand the show & it's science a bit better. I plan to post more about the Powers & how they work scientifically & otherwise, but for now I'd like to start with asking questions to anyone who might have more knowledge than me or their own theories they'd like to share.

So in rewatching, and trying to piece everything together I was stumped when it came to "The Hellscape". (The place El actually banishes Henry to in 1979) The wiki calls it "an Interdimentional terrain" That exists between dimensions. Another post I was reading described it as an "unstable fissure through spacetime".

As we see in "The Massacre of Hawkins Lab" El upon defeating Henry seems to desintegrate him into ash leaving behind a Portal where he once was. We then see Henry falling through this place constantly being struck by lightning, before somehow ending up in "The Abyss".

Now what I find curious is that upon this rift being opened as well as many other rifts throughout the series It leaves behind a Glowing red light and what looks like Tenticles around the "Scar" before it closes.

Throughout the series whenever a rift or gate is opened wether to the Upside Down, Abyss, Earth etc The same "Wounds" are left. And if left open too long they don't only glow with the same red light but they also ominously seem to hum with a strange sound as well. which was true for s2's "Mother Gate" when it was left open, & The 79 Gate.

On rewatching S5's "Rightside Up" Flashback upon Henry getting his hands on the stone right before it connects him to The MF. The Stones Red cracks glow brighter & the same sound as when a Gate is Open is heard before it goes inside his bloodstream.

With all this in mind I'm starting to wonder If The Rocks cracks were miniture rifts & the energy inside of it Was not actually originally from the Abyss. or rather It was charged with the energy of the Hellscape itself?

Maybe the Rock is charged with the red lightning from The Hellscape & actually is a Piece from one of it's Mountains.

And every time a rift opens those tenticles are also left which are eerily similar to the stuff we constantly see from the Upside Down & The Abyss.

They do seem to describe The rifts as "Wounds" so what if every single portal opened is actually the Infected wounds on reality or dimeansions? Short cuts between The Hellscape & the other worlds?

And the entire Hellscape is meant to represent not it's own dimension per se but The Mulitverse connecting various worlds.

If that's the case Perhaps that's why a Bridge was required in the first place to allow Travel between The Abyss & Earth.

Because nobody can actually cross the Hellscape without risking being Killed by it's unstable energy. (Which also probably explains why the russians in S3 couldn't keep a gate open until they went to Hawkins. Because a bridge already formed there. Meaning the energy from the Key was actually opening a Portal not to the Upside down in s3 episode 1 but to the Hellscape before it failed.)

However if that's the case I'm partially confused again because The Bridge was in outer space not the Hellscape.

So What exactly is going on? Well in Physics They state that Wormholes form when Space is folded & that at each opening There's a Blackhole & a Whitehole. So If The Hellscape is actually The Multiverse (which cannot be crossed) & The Bridge connects two points in Spacetime where each opening is a Blackhole & a Whitehole does that mean each Portal in Space actually connected two distant Realms across the Multiverse?

Curious if that means Hawkins was connect to or on the opposite side of a Whitehole & Henry was moving the Abyss through a Blackhole when trying to merge the Worlds in s5. And each time these rifts open wether they are Giant or Miniture rifts They are Portals in the Mulitiverse.

What do you guys think, What exactly is The Hellscape? Did the Rock come from there? Let me know down below if you have a better understanding of this than I do. I have been researching a lot on Quantum Physics & Electromagetism as well as "The Many Worlds Interpretation" by Hugh Everrett (Which was actually mentioned by Mr. Clarke in s1 Flea & the Acrobat".)

I did Read The Montauk Bible mentioned String Theory too but I'm still no expert.

I've never understood why people hate Jason as a character. In my opinion, he was one of the most fascinating and layered characters in season 4.

Was he wrong? Yes. Was he stubborn? Yes. Did he do things that were wrong? Of course.

But if you take a second and think from his perspective, he was somewhat justified in believing what he did. If your significant other was found maimed and dead in the home of a known drug dealer, and the drug dealer had disappeared, you would probably assume the same thing Jason did. And with further context- it really doesn't help that Powell and Callahan, and the larger town, were hyping up the idea that Eddie was the killer, and this took place during satanic panic. Does that make Jason justified? No, but it makes him understandable. You don't feel bad for him when he finds out that Chrissy is dead and runs off into the woods to cry?

He really should've listened to Lucas in the end of the season, but again, because of the time he was living in, it's sorta understandable that he would not believe Lucas. He absolutely was not evil, and you can tell because he went up to the attic and tried to save Max, even though he didn't understand what was happening to her.

I don't get why people act like Jason was some nefarious villain. He was an antagonist to the heroes of the season, but again, his actions were believable and came from a sincere motivation. He was mistaken and stubbornly vengeful, but that's the extent of his antagonism. I've always seen him more as a tragic character than anything, especially with such a horrifying death.

Max- running up that hill- was there any other choice?

Robin- rockin robin- she is rockin robin after all

Will- should I stay or should I go- once again any other choice

Eddie- master of puppets- once again a obvious choice his upside down concert will forever be iconic

Holly- i think we’re alone now- her little sequence in vecnas mind world was cute

Henry/vecna- dream a little dream of me- he used this song to torment both his father and max so it makes sense

The mind flayer- we’ll meet again- he did in fact meet eleven again plus the ending scene of the sauna episode was haunting

Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears

I can’t tell you how many edits I’ve seen using this song, but I feel like at this point everyone associates it with the show. The most surprising part is that it has never actually been in the show.

This song in particular has always given me season 3 vibes. I could have seen this song playing somewhere in season 3 because it fits the vibe of that season so well, and every time I’d see an edit with this song, it was always of season 3.

For a while, I thought this song was going to play during the end credits of season 5, especially because of the part where the song says “nothing ever lasts forever.” I thought that would have been such a perfect choice, but Heroes by David Bowie was perfect too.

What song do you guys associate with Stranger Things a lot despite it never actually being in the show?

I'm currently rebuilding the Starcourt Mall from season 3 in Blender. My main goal is to be able to walk around it in VR and enjoy the experience.

I'm a beginner in Blender, so I'd love to hear your feedback on the textures and the mall. They're not finished yet as you can see.

If you don't know or don't remember what I'm talking about, in Season 4, Vecna showed Nancy some visions of Hawkins turning into the Upside Down and being invaded by a giant creature (which I like to think was the final form of the Mind Flayer) and an army of Demos. She genuinely thought this was gonna happen and after the cliffhanger we got in Season 4, you would think it's inevitable. The Duffers built all this up, including Vecna opening the big rift and then ruined all this build up and hype because the actors were getting older? Ugh who cares, it’s a fictional show.

I've made a similar post like this saying that Season 5 could've been a survival horror season and I stand by that. Nancy's vision coming true could've been the key to make Season 5 a masterpiece.
