I want to thank all the redditors that happened to be at pals on Sunday for my birthday. It was one of the best bdays of my life!

For party favors, I gave out Polaroids of pictures I’ve taken of nature (mostly birds) of the past 3 yrs. I still have the Polaroids that are in this post plus a few more left to give out. I will be hanging out at Pals Lounge every evening for the next few evenings giving out the remaining Polaroids.

This is my foster through Take Paws. He's around 5 years old, and about 65lb. He was on the short list at a rural shelter to get euthanized. Bennie is a very sweet sweet dog who will make an excellent companion.

It's very hard to get this type of breed adopted and I'm looking for your help. He's been with us for 3 months. I have 2 other dogs (strays I couldn't get adopted). I'm gonna be doing some traveling and my wife needs a break. Walking three dogs is a challenge.

He offers a lot of comfort and has a guardian disposition as it relates to alerting. would be good for a single person who is concerned about being alone. He's excellent with other dogs. I can see him in the Marigny or Bywater with someone crunchy

I’m currently renting one half of a double with some kind of an Airbnb type rental on the other half. Several times now, on the same day the garbage has been collected, someone has filled or overfilled my trash can with their own trash. Most times I just dumped the stranger’s trash out on the sidewalk because I’m obviously not going to go the whole week with nowhere to put my trash and later someone came and retrieved it. Am I an asshole for this? How should I handle this? Not sure which of my neighbors is responsible.

Edit: For further context, my address number is painted visibly on the side of the trash can and the unit next door has their own trash can with its number on the side as well

I was accepted into Delgado Charity School of Nursing’s RN program and start in January 2027. I’m excited, but I’m trying to get a realistic understanding of the program before I plan my work schedule and finances. I’ve tried talking to Mrs. Fleury multiple times but she was extremely unhelpful. With no one else to ask, hopefully reddit can come to my rescue. 

I’ve read the official program information, but I would really like to hear from current students or recent graduates.

A few questions:

1. What did your actual weekly schedule look like during Nursing I? Which days and hours did you have lectures, labs, simulations, and clinicals?
2. How many hours per week did you realistically spend studying and completing assignments outside of class? 
3. If you cannot take one of the required nursing courses during your assigned semester or goodness forbid fail a class, can you continue later with another cohort, what happens?
4. What did you actually pay each semester after tuition and fees? 
5. Did anyone successfully work nights while completing the program? If so, approximately how many shifts did you work, and which nights were realistic?
6. If you could prepare differently before Nursing I, what would you do?

I have already completed most of my prerequisites and general education courses, so I’m mainly trying to understand the nursing course workload itself. I currently work nights, mostly weekends and need to continue earning money, but I don’t want to arrange a schedule that makes passing nursing school unrealistic. I'm terrified of struggling with the course load, studying , working and financial obligations all at once. 

I would especially appreciate answers from students who attended recently, since schedules and program requirements may have changed. Thank you!

Trying to help my sibling find a place to love with their friends while they finish up college/work. However we’re hitting a snag with either the owners being apprehensive or not being able to accommodate their needs (one of them has a dog). They’re all quality kids, and I’ve learned things aren’t as easy as it was when I left home. So, if anyone knows an agency or someone with a vacant house/larger townhouse I would be indebted.

Getting a gallon of milk in New Orleans for less than $4 usually feels impossible, but I was checking delivery options today and noticed a huge drop:

Amazon Grocery: $2.19 for Whole Milk, $2.46 for 2%

Walmart: $2.82 for Great Value 2% (was $4.32!)

Is this just Amazon and Walmart getting into a weird algorithm price war, or are local spots actually dropping prices too?

We hope that despite it being Labour Day our Land Lord finds someone to come and repair it today, but the house is a swampy oven. I’m mostly worried about our two little dogs.

Any ideas for dog friendly places I could hang out with them today that are not super overstimulating?

I know we're 2 months out, but it seems like every house in my neighborhood has a sign up already and every week I'm seeing a new article on NOLA.com about the candidates for criminal court. Add on top of it the drama with Baton Rouge about seats being eliminated and I'm confused as hell.
