Missing Peace The speakerphone paradox

I was at the pool today when a woman started having a conversation on her phone using the speaker.

I politely asked her if she could not use the speaker and pointed to my headphones.
She said, “I don’t have headphones.”
So I said, “You can just hold the phone next to your ear.”

She looked at me with a completely blank expression and said, “I’m on speakerphone.”
I said, “Well… that’s the problem.”

Apparently, we had reached the limits of modern technology.

The other horrendous one is when people play videos on their phone loud in public. Just bewilders me. I was at a restaurant a couple of weeks back and a 50+ year old started watching sport loud on their phone at the table next to us. Mind boggling obnoxiousness.

Boomers. They don’t like headphones and are entitled to this apparently. From my personal experiences in life & experience traveling etc this seems to be the case.

Had a maybe 25 y/o blasting a bunch of shitty vids for an entire 40 minute ferry journey just last week. Ferry was packed, he gave no fucks. Once I would have challenged him but I'm getting old now and he was a rough looking bastard so I just suffered in silence, as did everyone else near him I guess.
