Help Ask for help here

Upvotes

Microsoftsucks is not a techsupport subreddit, but naturally because people come to this subreddit after having a problem with a Microsoft product which made then say "Microsoft sucks! I am fed up!", they are going to make a post to ask for help! and sometimes a post from this subreddit is going to show up on the search results and that leads people to then ask for help here. Which is a nice way the subreddit gets promoted to people who never thought of Microsoft being so bad

If you need help recovering your account, see this https://www.reddit.com/r/microsoftsucks/comments/1torso3/how_to_recover_your_hacked_microsoft_account/

Microsoft Learn profile deleted!

Upvotes

Looking for anyone who has dealt with something similar with Microsoft Learn.

I had a Microsoft Learn profile for many years, using my personal Microsoft account as a sign-in account. I earned multiple Microsoft certifications and was also an MCT.

I also linked the profile to an employer's Microsoft account/Partner Center during my employment. After leaving that employer, my Learn profile was deleted about a month later. I did not delete it.

Microsoft Support has told me they cannot verify that my personal account was a sign-in account on the deleted profile, rather than simply a contact/notification address. This is the part I'm struggling with, because I regularly signed into Learn using that account.

I have two useful pieces of evidence:

  • Microsoft's Privacy Dashboard shows Learn service usage associated with my personal account over numerous days.
  • I have Microsoft emails confirming certification pass and renewals, sent to that same personal address, including my certification details.

I'm currently asking Microsoft whether the certification/examination records can be re-associated with my new Learn profile, even though the original profile was deleted.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

In particular:

  1. Can Microsoft re-associate certifications with a new Learn profile when the original profile has been deleted?
  2. Can Microsoft Support see the historical sign-in accounts associated with a deleted Learn profile?
  3. Has anyone successfully recovered certifications in a situation like this?

I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who's dealt with Microsoft Learn profile deletion, work/personal account linking, or certification record recovery.

Cascade of fuckery

I don't wanna keep paying Google or anybody else for a small amount of cloud storage. I tried using a VM to run a home cloud server. Unsurprisingly, I put several hours of work into trying 10 different approaches, none of which worked. Since then my PC clock is permanently wrong. Doesn't matter how many times I reset it. I tried every troubleshooting process I could find on the internet. I tried turning Hyper-V off. It's been looking for files for 5 minutes. How can you not know where your own fucking files are?
It took me another hour just to fuck with all the required permissions and redundant security dialogues just to get two fucking computers on the same network to be able to file share. Guess I'm the first person to consider doing that with a PC, by the looks of how arcane Windows makes it.
Microsoft makes me want to return to the stone age.

Bugs and Errors KB5120998 update shows how incompetent Microsoft is

Upvotes

So my windows updated to this prewiew version where it came with this weird mouse and disapearing wallpaper so I decided to uninstall it. I have an Windows 11 Pro with a digital key. Could you understand my anger when the settings app promped me it can t revert the update until I deactivate windows sandbox feature. Man like how in the word you updated to the new version without deleting an app but to delete the update I need to uninstall an app first?

My Xbox and Microsoft got hacked here’s how I solved it.

Upvotes

My Microsoft account has been hacked since start of July up until today. Here is how I solved it.

I was hacked by an email called Wallacesharp1997@helovies.com i Didn’t know what to do or where to go I went on to Microsoft and they basically said feck off we don’t care they made me fill out 40+ recovery forms just to get a no sorry not enough detail or they just wouldn’t get back to me at all.

Anytime I tried to sign in it came up that my account is not secure so then I would try to explain to the sign in helper how I can’t get me code as there’s a whole different email there that isn’t mine and is most likely hacker.

What I did to solve the issue on my own, if you have any old phone grab it and turn it on go to Microsoft in the browser and sign in to the account you are trying to get back if it still comes up that you can’t I suggest go threw Xbox sign in you should most likely get signed back into your account.

After you successfully get account back go to your info and take screenshot of your info in case you need it and make sure you are the aliases of the Microsoft account and then go back to Microsoft and look up what to do to be more secure.

(I forgot to mention this but when I was finally signing back in I was made change my password just a heads up cause changing the password basically got all my sh!t back)

I hope this makes sense and helps others if anyone needs help let me know but tbh I solved this with hopes and dreams.

Fuck Microsoft 😉

OneDrive mass deleting files

Upvotes

After weeks of using Linux I wanted to boot into Microshit Windows 11 for a last time before deleting the entire OS, only to sync all personal files with my external SSD.

I forgot OneDrive was active and doing some work and discovered my applications (for work) was deleted entirely. I managed to recover it from OneDrive webpage, then found out my entire mp3 collection is gone. From Windows and my SOLID DISC DRIVE, I mean, what the HELL is OneDrive doing on my backup SSD??

Yeah thanks for nothing, trying to rescue what's left on other drives and I'm so DONE with Microsoft

Account issues Microsoft Sucks, 0 help from support team. Not able to sign in to mobile outlook after using ‘sign out everywhere’.

Upvotes

Had unusual sign in activity in my Microsoft account, changed my passwords and activated 2FA. Used the sign out everywhere option on Microsoft to secure my account and hoping it would sign the hacker out everywhere.

Used the function at about 9pm 1/9.
Tried to log in to Hotmail on mobile on 2/9 morning and not able to do so. Not receiving any code or Authenticator notification. Tried the whole day on 2/9 to log in to mobile outlook but not successful.

Tried again 3/9 morning, same thing. Contacted Microsoft customer service which is so unhelpful and said that this is a mobile outlook app problem and sent a self helper link and closed the conservation without letting me ask any question.

Obviously Microsoft customer support sucks and just wanting some advice from the vast redditors who might have experienced this before.

Anyone knows what’s going on? Should I be worried about this? Should I just wait for another 24-48 hours and try again?

Update info:
I still have my previous outlook access using my laptop, but I can’t sign into outlook using my outlook app on mobile or mobile browser.

Now i have access to the email but not the old number tied to it. Tried recovering it soooo many times but they keep saying they cant ensure thats its me. Been trying for days and i cant even talk to a real person. Im not familiar with it cause im a sony boy since p3 days and they can help me within 20 minutes get back into an account. Am i just out of luck? I bought hella packs from market place in there that has since been removed. Weirdly enough im still linked to the account on mc. When i try to link another it says i still have the old one linked but not signed in🤡 how does that even work. is it GGs guys? Im even willing to restore the old number just to see if I can get the code to reset my pw……..anyone else been through this…. Ridiculous

Bugs and Errors Frame Inspector request sent to MS developers to allow uncovering overlapping layers of formatting that drive us nuts

Upvotes

I’ve proposed a feature on the Microsoft Feedback Portal to address a pain point we’ve all dealt with: shared documents becoming a "debugging exercise" rather than a writing exercise due to invisible formatting layers conflicting with each other.

If you agree this is a badly needed feature, please consider giving it an upvote on the official portal here: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/355f0b90-6697-f111-9b47-7c1e52444ef6

Word's layered formatting model allows page geometry, styles, direct paragraph formatting, and multilevel-list definitions to interact in ways that produce unintended layout glitches. While Word lets us inspect individual layers, there is no tool that shows the causal chain producing the final look of a paragraph.

The Solution Proposed: An Effective Formatting Inspector / Conflict Analyzer that maps out: Style → Direct Overrides → List-Level Formatting → Tabs → Resulting Position. It would flag redundancies and anomalous formatting without altering Word's core document model.

A Real-World Example:
I recently had to diagnose a 25-page legal document with a systematic half-inch layout shift. Margins and styles looked perfect. The culprit? A direct 0.5" paragraph override combined with multilevel-list formatting and 327 explicit 1.5" tab stops. Word obviously had the data to render it, but no native UI to expose that causal chain. I had to write a custom VBA routine just to find and purge the anomalous tabs.

Let's get Microsoft's attention on this! (And to any sub moderators/bots: This is a direct feature request/policy discussion, not a tech support or promo post).
