Context:
People find stray dogs in our state a LOT.
I can think of at least 10 people I’ve met who have their dogs because they randomly found them wandering around the streets here downtown.
Anyway, I laugh so hard whenever I imagine if someone randomly found our Noodle as a stray puppy, thinking “oh wow it’s a chihuahua mix of some kind, let me take him home with me,” only for him to start stretching out in all directions like Pinocchio
Can you imagine? 😂😂😂
Never having heard of an Italian greyhound before, thinking you found a little random toy breed mix puppy in the gutter, only to watch them stretch and morph into a Chupacabra, not knowing if or when the stretching was ever going to stop.
We did months of research before we brought him home, and we are still shocked by how he just keeps getting longer, and taller.
Maybe that’s just me, but I LOLOL at the thought.

Hi! My little guy is right at 10 mo and marking EVERYTHING. I got him a belly band to help but he really hates it. Like all he does is just sit. He won’t jump up on the bed or couch. We’re tryna hold out until around a year before we get him neutered but this has been trying to
Have yall used belly bands before? Do they ever get used to it?

It’s either a walk or a treat. I’m guessing a treat

As a first time dog owner, I thought I knew what I was getting into (shocker, I didn’t). He turns two today and I look forward to the years to come. Happy birthday Obes.

I adopted Fig from MexiMutts (amazing program - full medical and dental cleaning for adoption), a street dog from Mexico. He is ~1.5 yo IG/Chi mix and was skin & bones. We’ve struggled to get him to eat but found some success with Weruva Barron’s mix wet food. Our previous pup loved his rolly treat ball so we gave it a try for Fig and it’s been a huge success so thought I would share. He eagerly finishes 2 servings of dry food with a few dehydrated treats mixed in. His weight has improved from 6 to 7 lbs and his coat is shiny and soft.

Hey Friends! It’s gonna start getting cold soon and this is my first year having a Iggy Pup! Can you all recommend some good affordable clothing sites. He’s about 8 pounds so I’m still trying to figure out what will be what size wise. Thanks in advance.

Firstly I want to say this is totally my fault he hasn’t been trained to walk properly on a leash. He’s my first dog as an adult and I’ve lacked the proper skills to train him - so I’m asking for help 😇
He’s very smart, he knows a lot of commands. Sit, stay, spin, heal, come, boop, leave it, whisper. But he’s only really good at these at home, when there are no distractions or if I have cheese and he’s hungry.
I’ve added a video of him at his worst. It’s like this when we first get out. He’s very interested in smelling other dogs pee spots and marking himself. Almost the entire walk he is nose down sniffing and then he marks a million times. I notice this behaviour gets worse when there are female dogs in heat. I live in an area with A LOT of dogs.
He does occasionally look up at me and makes eye contact. Something I taught him when he was a puppy. I am able to get him to redirect to where I want to take us by giving a little tug and saying “let’s go.” His heal command only works outside right before I give him the treat, then he is right back to pulling. I have also tried to through a treat infront of him whenever he is walking nicely. But he isn’t that interested in the treats, he will eat the first three then he doesn’t care.
Any and all advice is welcome! Thank you for reading ❤️

Remember my giant puppy? (Got a new account)
When I first got him he was 3.8kg at 3 months old and posted here asking for predictions of his future weight! Well he is almost 11 months now and today he weighs 7.25kg!! We are getting closer to whippet territory 😅 He measures roughly 10 cm taller than my older iggy and is basically exactly in the middle of my iggy and my whippet in terms of height and weight. Huge and handsome guy 🤍

they say you have to be cautious with iggies interacting with big dogs coz' they might get hurt.
well, meet my eldest female samoyed that gets her tail sat on every other hour when my iggy puppy wants to co-sleep.
my iggy has a pefectly comfy bed, but nooooo~ where the big sister goes, she goes and curls up on the fluffy tail.
sometimes I catch her nesting and squishing my sammy girl's tail to get comfy. and sometimes she snuggles right up the bum too.
if anyone is wondering what my sammy's reaction to this wierd arrangment... well she just gives me a 'look' and goes back to sleep lol.

My 10 month old unneutered male Iggy has started marking in our house😭😭 (we have no other dogs)
When I clean it properly and use enzyme spray as soon as I turn my back he does it again this could be like 2 minutes after he's just been outside to pee
I know it's common but does anyone have any tips or did anyone notice a huge difference in neutering theres?
Also on neutering any pros and cons? I don't have plans to breed him but didn't plan to neuter him

Hi everyone, I'm heavily considering getting a senior Iggy as my first pet. I'd be adopting through a scheme in the UK which offers support for medical care when you adopt a senior. I live with my 2 parents in a quiet home with no pets. I've looked into the care for iggies and it fits me well. My house is rarely empty ect. I'm just unsure if an Iggy will interrupt the quiet household we have, and whether it's too much of a commitment for a first dog? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We’ve had our little girl for 7 weeks now and she’s just starting to lose her baby teeth (two tiny front ones gone this morning 🥺)! She’s hilarious but BRATTY. How long did it take ya’lls iggies to lose their full set and do you have any recommendations for things to help with the teething?

Hi everyone, I have 2 older iggies (Molly & Ziggy, siblings/litter mates, almost 10yrs) and they have a daycare they like going to. We have a trip coming up but my dog sitter bailed last minute and we’ve been struggling to find another one, so we are planning on boarding them at the place they go to daycare for a week. I feel AWFUL about it, and I’ve tried my best to look for other options last minute, but for now this is the plan.
The staff loves them and it gives me comfort that they will have each other as well, but I am very nervous about it and feel like they will think I’m just abandoning them. I’m also just generally nervous because iggies are so sensitive as we all know, and they are always on my or my husband’s lap.
Does anyone have experience boarding their iggy? Did they do okay? Any tips or advice? We’ve also considered trying to get trazodone last minute for them in case they get anxious but I’m not sure if I can get a prescription for them that quickly.
Thank you for reading and for any advice 🩷

I WFH, so I’ve started noticing Paya’s sleep schedule a lot more.
She sleeps/naps for most of the day, which honestly works out perfectly because she doesn’t bother me much while I’m working. And around 5 PM she gets her biggest burst of energy and is much more active throughout the evening.
But lately I’ve noticed that around 3 - 4 AM she’ll randomly be WIDE awake 😭 Like walking around, trying to get into things, wanting to do stuff while I’m trying to sleep. Then around 5 AM she finally settles down and basically sleeps the entire day again. Is this normal? Lol
