Hello yet again, to all you Gleeks out there! Having watched disc three of Season 1 earlier, I just came to give my (semi-)daily episodic review as a Gleek-in-training!

S1E9 "Wheels": I personally thought this episode was quite a great entry, plus we finally get an Artie-centric episode. I disliked how indifferent the other ND kids were to Artie because of his physical disability only because due to my own mental disability (ASD) I know how Artie feels being "othered" by his peers. Also, after being fairly neutral to him for the first seven episodes and still having neutral feelings to but slightly weirded out by him in the episode that came prior to this one (mainly because of his "Thong Song" performance), I find it blasphemous to say that I sympathise with Will Schuester in this episode, since he was right to scold the other ND kids for essentially mocking Artie's condition, and to make them use wheelchairs just so they know what life is like for Artie. On the topic of disabilities, I liked that this episode introduces the Sue-Becky dynamic as Becky has Down syndrome, and the fact that we get to see Sue's sister Jean, who also has Down syndrome, for the first time. I also liked the subplot of Rachel and Kurt competing for, and then singing, "Defying Gravity", Artie singing "Dancing with Myself" (because Kevin McHale has a soulful voice), that one scene of Kurt trying to hit a high F interspersed with the scene of Burt taking a phone call from some anonymous caller telling him that his son's an "F-word", as well as when the ND kids all sing "Proud Mary". I also like how Artie took one for his team (the New Directions) by deciding to use his money that was intended to get him on the same ride as the other ND kids to Sectionals to pay for a wheelchair ramp for the school instead, and that was real humble of him seeing as both Mr. Schue and the other ND kids were also quite proud of him. Also the bit where Brittany mentions she lost her wheelchair was hilarious IMO. I'm giving this episode a perfect 10/10, it is so far THE favourite episode of the season for me.

S1E10 "Ballad": I liked this episode. It was the second of two episodes in a row where I was sympathetic to Mr. Schue (for reasons I'll explain in a quick moment), and we also get one of the earliest glimpses of Brittana at the start. And poor Matt Rutherford, having to skip school because a spider was just casually making itself at home in his ear. Also, going back to the Mr. Schue sympathy; his duet with Rachel on "Endless Love", I gotta admit, made me feel kinda cringed out, but not because of Will this time for once, oh, no way, Jose! It was Rachel being the cringy one, given she started getting an unhealthy crush on Will. Like, "obsessed stalker" level crush. Then we find out some lore: Will had another student from his former Spanish language class named Suzy Pepper, giving Rachel some competition. And man, Rachel was way outta line in this episode, even invading Will's literal freaking house which is also his private space (you can blame Terri for that one lol) just to be with him which leads me to think: does the One Wish Willow canonically exist in the Glee universe? 😂 😂 😂 But, enough of that, this episode had some REAL selling points: when it is revealed to her father that Quinn is pregnant and he disapproves instantly, leading Quinn to rightfully lecture him and chew him out in a tearful crashout. Man, Dianna Agron's acting in that scene was peak and so awesome AF; you could really feel Quinn's anger! I am also glad the episode ended off on a wholesome note as the other ND kids sang "Lean on Me" (we get some awesome solos from Kevin McHale and Amber Riley out of it too) to Finn and Quinn (before they both joined in). Also I liked Quinn's line to Finn: "You're wrong, I'm right. I'm smart, you're dumb," which was a funny line too. This episode gets a 7.5/10 from me.

S1E11 "Hairography": I thought this episode was decent. I liked the bits where the NDs sung the "Hair/Crazy In Love" mashup, followed immediately by yet another wholesome moment (what is it with this show and it being unexpectedly very wholesome at times?!) where the kids from the Haverbrook School for the Deaf sang John Lennon's "Imagine" and the ND kids joined in with them, that was a really sweet moment for me. I also liked that scene where Finchel were in Rachel's bedroom and they started singing "You're the One That I Want", a nice callback to the pilot, also Lea Michele looked kinda pretty dressed up as Sandy from Grease. Also, I liked when Santana said to Quinn "Keep your paws off my man!" Man, Naya really was born to play Santana Lopez (and I'm glad she got that chance). As with "Ballad", this gets a 7.5/10 from me.

Anyways, as always, I want to hear what your personal thoughts are on these episodes. And it's okay if you disagree with my opinions on these episodes, I'll respect your opinion.

I’ve known of the show for years, but I’d never seen it all the way through. Now, I’m doing my first proper viewing of all six seasons in order, and I just finished S4 for the first time (for the record, I’d never seen past S3). Most people talk about it as the first major sign of a drop in quality for the show, but I enjoyed it a lot! I really like all of the new characters, minus Kitty. What she did to Marley is diabolical, and I don’t care how nice she is in the future, what she did was not funny or excusable. However, Jake, Ryder and Unique are all pretty cool characters, if they’re not the most interesting, but Marley is by far the best Gen. 2 member of the New Directions. She’s pure, kind-hearted, and has an INCREDIBLE voice. All of the returning characters, whether they’re in new directions or not, are definitely sidelined, especially if they had graduated at the end of S3. The New York stuff I honestly don’t care too much about, but I really like seeing Kurt and Rachel, and eventually Santana, living together. I wish we’d gotten a LOT more Finn, because some of my favorite moments from this season were where he was running Glee Club, but that’s okay. This season really helped me like Sam’s character a lot more too, I don’t know why. All in all, Marley is great, NYC sideplots are fine, we needed more Finn, and this music so far has been some of the best! Oh, and Brody is a hoe.

The pause, the look to the side to be sure Ryan Murphy is not here, the hesitation and that "of course"...a masterpiece

I have a question for all of you. Were there any moments where you felt bad for any of the characters on Glee?

It’s my first time watching glee and I was really liking it. I just started watching season 3 and I’m really disappointed.

Mr shoe was already not a great person in the first two seasons, but I excused it because of the way he acted towards his students. This season he just cares about winning and has completely lost the plot.

It just feels like the writers ran out of ideas. As for the episode Im on now everything just feels all over the place. Is it worth continuing to watch it?

Having watched disc two of my Season 1 DVD earlier yesterday before taking a breather and then finishing the disc just hours before now, I wanted to give my personal opinions on each episode.

S1E5 "The Rhodes Not Taken": I liked the energy that this episode gave. April Rhodes is very chaotic neutral-coded IMO, and Kristin Chenoweth was perfect for the role. Also I liked the two-sided duet between Lea and Cheno singing "Maybe This Time", this particular performance must be studied for the Glee history books, no second opinion on that. And then there's also Matty Fresh (l hope you guys understood that reference) and Cheno singing Heart's "Alone". And regarding Rachel wanting to rejoin the NDs at the end but the majority of them are still offended that she quit the glee club for her own selfish purposes (joining the school musical), I understood why they'd still be mad at Rachel although she felt bad about quitting glee, not helping this was that April left and Mr. Schue felt bad for letting her join in the first. Although it was nice to see that they patched things up with a rather wholesome performance of "Somebody to Love". This episode gets a 7.5/10 from me.

S1E6 "Vitamin D": To sum all of what I need to say: Sue's journal entry, Finn acting extra enthusiastic to the other ND boys under the medication he'd been given by Terri, and the ND girls (Rachel, Mercedes, Tina, Quinn, Santana and Brittany) performing a mashup I would have never thought would have worked the way it did but I'm glad it did: Beyonce's "Halo" and Katrina and the Waves' "Walking on Sunshine" (although I also thought the ND guys' mashup of Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" and Usher's "Confessions Part II" was decent, but I preferred the girls' mashup personally). Also, Lea, Amber, Jenna, Dianna, Naya and Heather looked pretty in the yellow dresses IMHO. I'm giving this episode an 8/10. It's one of my favourites of the season so far besides "Preggers" (merely for those scenes alone).

S1E7 "Throwdown": Another good entry in this foundational season IMO. The bit at the beginning where Will and Sue basically obliterate the fourth wall by even arguing with each other in their voiceover narrations was a great way to kick off the episode, and I found the scene where Finn suggests the name "Drizzle" to Quinn for the baby she's pregnant with hilarious. Also, Mercedes' performance of "Hate on Me" was also another great moment; I just gotta give praise to Amber Riley here, she has such a great voice! Another highlight for me was when the ND kids sang "Keep Holding On" at the end of the episode, as well as Quinn singing "You Keep Me Hangin' On". One more highlight for me was when all of the ND kids sang "Ride Wit Me"; it's made even better by the fact that the scene was actually improvised by the actors as well (IIRC) so it makes the scene all the more wholesome IMO. I also kinda felt bad for Quinn when her pregnancy was revealed to everyone (JBI is to blame for that one). Anyways, this episode gets a 7/10 from me.

S1E8 "Mash-up": The episode kicks off with another famous cringy Mr. Schue rap: "Bust a Move" (I'll admit this cover was lowkey a banger though). But no one, I repeat, NO ONE, could have prepared me - physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally - for Mr. Schue singing the, uh, "Thong Song", to Emma. God, the secondhand embarrassment and awkward laughter that came from my mouth (I HEARD ABOUT THIS FROM YOU GUYS BY THE WAY! AND THE CRINGE! THE CRIIIIIIINGE!) when I watched the scene... though I'll admit that Matty Boy's dance moves were good in both this and "Bust a Move", though, I can say that. The man can really bust a move. This episode also introduces two important aspects of the show: Mr. Dave Karofsky and, of course, the famous "slushie to the face" prank. Speaking of the slushies, I liked when Kurt slushied himself in the face just to save Finn's life; honestly, Kurt is the GOAT for that. I also liked when the New Directions - all twelve of them - slushied Mr. Schue at the end. I know it was meant to be a playful and wholesome moment, and I felt the same way, but Mr. Schue deserved it IMO just for that cringy AF "Thong Song" performance (I hear from fans that it only gets worse from there). For that, I'll give the episode a 7.5/10. I was going to give it an 8/10 but it's not particularly a favourite episode of mine, but I felt it too mean to just give it a plain seven, so 7.5/10 it was.

Anyways, those were my opinions on each episode from this portion of the season. I'm interested to hear your own thoughts on these episodes too.

I know some people will complain because he’s a professional dancer or whatever.

But, personally, I’m super excited. I’ve been a Harry fan for a very long time. And I have a YouTube playlist of everything I’ve found of him dancing.

And I’m going to love every second of watching him on this!

I know Finn can be a clueless jerk at times, but there were times that I couldn’t help but feel bad for him.

1. In season 1, when Finn was manipulated by Quinn into believing he was the father of her baby only to suffer a devastating public humiliation when the truth came out and Rachel revealed that Puck was the real father of the baby. Plus, everyone knew the truth and never told him.
2. Also season 1, when Will Schuester planted marijuana in Finn's locker and blackmailed him into joining the New Directions Glee Club under the threat of exposing him. Because of that, it cost Finn his social standing and popularity on the school football team. He ends up getting bullied and isolated from his former friends.
3. In season 3, when Finn found out the truth about his father’s death. Growing up, Finn believed his father died a hero in Operation Desert Storm. However, his tearfully mother revealed that he actually suffered from PTSD after returning from Iraq and died from a drug overdose. He was so upset at his mom for lying and keeping the truth from him.
4. In season 4, After graduating McKinley High, Finn struggled to find his calling for a while. He got kicked out of the military, dropped out of college, and ended up breaking up with Rachel when he found out about her and Brody.
5. In season 5, following the tragic real-life passing of actor Cory Monteith, Finn's character also unfortunately passed away offscreen. He left the school and the glee club mourning for him in the tribute episode "The Quarterback."

The twerking episode is... peculiar, to say the least.

i know there are some deleted scenes there and it seems really hard to find online.

Ever since I tuned in for the pilot and heard Don't Stop Believing. It was like a beam of light, I was like WHO IS THIS. I know it's largely agreed he doesn't have the strongest voice, and that's true (although it improves later on), but I've never heard a tone like his before. Is it just me or is it incredibly unique? Masculine, but also playful and cute. I remember the songs would come out before the episodes and I'd be super disappointed if Cory wasn't gonna be singing. Of course, naturally, I stopped watching the show when tragedy struck. Is Cory Monteith anyone else's favorite singer on the show? And, if so, can anyone actually recommend me someone who sounds like him?

Is it just me that loves the development of his character?
