Engage General Playing engage atm. Seriously who writes these dialogues?

Just met this Yunaka girl and holy crap who writes this shit?

Also every mf gushing over the divine dragon from the second the game starts... I can not take this game serious.

What happened?

Edit: okay after a day with Yunaka she's my favorite character and literally my wife. Am i schizo?

Yeah the writing is shit. Enjoy the gameplay and ignore the story, thats the correct way to play engage. Reddit will tell you otherwise but dont worry, your reaction solidifies you as utterly sane.

It's not - I think it's one of the worst written JRPGs I've played and I struggle to name a similarly bad JRPG story that isn't Fates. Even other JRPGs that are known for bad writing such as Sea of Stars or SMTV don't fail in the same spectacular fashion as Engage does with say, Lumera's death scene.
