I had been given an IQ test as part of my ADHD assessment around mid-2025, around my 18th birthday. I received an FSIQ score (118) nearly identical to the score above and had extremely similar subtest scores to the CORE. With Visual Puzzles being the strongest and Digit Span being the weakest relative to the FSIQ. The CORE IQ test I took after confirmed my in-person IQ test assessment, and I moved on with my life.

I hadn't taken any IQ tests since then, around a year to a year and two months ago. Out of interest, I decided to see if the score would remain the same a year later on my adjusted medication.

Because of the increased difference, I found it interesting and something to share with this community. I have noticed through scrolling through this subreddit, the abundance of ADHDers and the similar angst about their Working Memory Index scores. I found a really beautiful analogy: "Manipulating the information in my mind feels like trying to fill a glass of water with a pressure washer without spilling anything."

I am not so much looking for an IQ estimate, rather I am interested in reading about what you guys think.

I think AI is rotting my brain.

I am actually aware of my cognitive decline and my brain functions.

Before, I used to be able to read and solve complex problems and be more productive.

I used to go on reddit and whisper and other apps and reach out to people to socaillise.

I used to get advice from real humans and listen to them.

I was smarter a few years ago. And felt like I was the most smartest when I was using my brain a lot at univeristy.

AI seems great for therapy and research and it is so useful so I still support it and love it.

But I hav enoticed my brain declining and I am really worried. It is like, I can't even think anymore. Because I don't excercise my brain enough. It feels like it had gotten lazy, like a dementia patient.

I do smoke a couple of puffs of green every night to sleep so could that be affecting it?

I also have ADHD and feel liek my inattentiveness has gotten way worse in the last few years.

I work a repetative admin job that also does not require me to use my brain.

I am so nervous because I actually used to be the smartest kid in school in my year and have done really well in my engineering degree (which i did not pursue a career in becuase it is boring and far away).

Even writing this took a lot of effort. What could help me get my sharp, curious, brain back?

Should I stop smoking or is it the AI and I should reduce use of that?

Highest subscore was on analogies (99.6 %ile) and lowest on figure sets (15.8%ile).
I have ADHD, but even so, this seems a rather extreme disparity. In a way it wasn't surprising because I cannot assemble anything.
I'd have done better on the quantitative with the usual 1.5x accommodation, but I was lost on many of the FRI and VSI items and just guessed.

Please tell me if the following is wrong. I am posting it because I have never quite found this exact point being discussed, and it seems to be something very obvious to point out:

People usually claim that CORE is neither deflated nor inflated because the scores for the norming sample agree overall with AGCT and GRE. But strictly speaking, this only means that CORE is accurate for the people in the norming sample and similar populations. CORE could still be deflated for other people. The CORE norming sample may be more familiar with IQ tests and may have practice effect, especially from CAIT, but also many other tests that people were trying before CORE.

In particular, this could mean that CORE is not only deflated for people with average IQ, but even for people with high IQs who are completely unfamiliar with IQ tests, or at least significantly less familiar with CAIT and/or IQ testing in general.

Also, has anyone wondered that perhaps VCI displays SLODR on CORE, but FRI does not, precisely because the norming sample is already made up mostly by FRI specialists of the sort that are drawn towards IQ testing. Therefore, within that homogeneous group, g will be the main differentiator for FRI scores?

My son recently took the WISC-V test. His verbal comprehension score was 136, and his fluid reasoning score was 100 with FSIQ = 125. I did not receive scores for other subtests.

I am very confused and concerned about the huge difference in those two subscores. Should I be concerned about the validity of the results? Should I be asking about additional testing for a learning disability? He scored well on CoGat, but he was extremely nervous/emotional about the WISC testing.

Mainly, I am just looking for suggestions regarding what would be pertinent to discuss with the school psychologist and gifted coordinator during our meeting later this week. I appreciate any insight or advice you may have. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I took most parts of CORE test and I wanted to ask how is my profile possible. I felt very stupid during the working memory part, I was struggling to remember even the shortest number chains. Do you think that being non native could affect the memory tests? I had to translate every number in my head during the tests. I have B2 level.

I got 141 FSIQ on CORE, 135 Mensa Norway, and 140 FSIQ on 1926 SAT. Is it safe to assume that to be a fair representation of my iq or do I need more datapoints?

When I was in school I always performed pretty averagely, but that was largely because I never really put much effort into it and the older I got the less I payed attention in class. I struggled quite a lot with mental health issues like depression symptoms, which made me not care about school that much. I’ve never taken an IQ test, but I was curious if it’s possible to have a significantly higher than average IQ without showing any signs growing up? Any time I hear someone with a high IQ talk about their experiences growing up it seems to be a common theme that they performed exceptionally well in school, especially in the first few years. But then again surely you have to have some interest in school to do well? Or maybe high IQ automatically makes you interested to learn, so therefore it’s a given that you’d also do well?

I took the CORE ~6 months ago and the CAIT this week.

I also retook CORE Antonyms + Character Pairing right after I took the CAIT and scored exactly the same, so I've probably avoided the practice effect.

Planning on re-taking digit span due to large discrepancy between sequencing & forward/backward scores. I'm diagnosed w/ ADHD and took the CORE spontaneously after a late-night study session. Please lmk how long I should wait before I do that (or re-calc based on my CAIT score?)

Could my score also be deflated due to my age? I'm currently in HS and childhood was riddled with developmental delays. I also hit puberty late, which is common in my family.

i am autistic and wonder what a good career option would be for me, i'm also considering data psychologist/ behavioral scientist or a career path i can acquire with a masters degree in history. i don't even know if going to university would be a viable option

I have quite crucial exams coming up consisting of various subjects on which I need to not just cram material but be analytically and conceptually great at it in about 2/3 months , I need to know what studying habit/routine, memory tricks or methods I can use to retain it well enough and into my long term memory PLEASE HELP because I’ve been learning and then forgetting it all repeatedly after a week

I think it generally lined up with my verbal results (maybe slightly lower) at 124.

i really thought i would be 2e, given that most people in my social circle are above 130…feeling pretty defeated and yes this is shallow but i almost looked forward to having an anchor of a higher iq to sort of offset the disadvantages my neurodivergence and general lack of physical attractiveness give me :/

What's the logic behind this puzzle?

I have no idea if my answer is correct.

My reasoning was: crosses are in the corners and no sign that has the same symbol on top can have the same symbol on the bottom as the others with the same symbol on top. But I can't find any other logic to it.
