Adopted him last year for marie(lop in the back) after her sister passed away, he is amazing

I’m learning to get over my “bunny phobia” and I think learning what others may like about bunnies may help. I’m already feel better about them because people in here are really nice and helpful.

So far I just like the fact they’re helping me push myself to be better. Trying to fix myself into liking bunnies has actually helped me understand myself more than I thought it would. Oh and how wild rabbits ears go into “swim mode” is cute(random side question why can’t demosticated rabbits swim or take baths I know that’s bad for them but why can normal rabbits be wet but not demoiscsted ones?”

hi guys I’m looking for advice on my elderly rabbit. He’s a mini lop who will be 10 next month. He’s been struggling with what I think to be Ecuni symptoms since age 6-7. But it has never been bad until now. He was circling with nystagmus which got better with anti-inflammatory and Antibiotics initially. The main symptoms never went away but he did improve somewhat. He is not declining again this time worse. He can no longer walk and just lays to one side. He is still wanting to eat, drink, and groom himself. So that makes me think he’s not quite at the end of life yet. He can move his legs but he cannot stand up straight to walk. I’ve been having to take full 24/7 care of him which has been very difficult with school. He has done panacur twice now and saw no improvement with that. My vet recommended a shorter course every other month. I’m worried he’s going to start having worse symptoms. Any advice is welcome. I think he’s too old to have surgery or any scans with anesthesia.

Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question. Any advice about bun’s peeing? I love having him next to me on the bed or the couch and he seems super happy and relaxed. He will pee right then and there, however. How do you all handle that? Do you put something underneath your bun? (I’ve tried that and he plays with it and rips it up.) he uses a litter box in his living area but if he’s on the bed or the couch he just free-pees.

Looking for advice/ opinions on favorite chews you all give your buns, my boy wants nothing to do with apple wood or bamboo chew sticks but LOVES these timothy hay chew sticks I was given. Thing is, though they smell fine and have an ingredient list on the packaging of just timothy hay and wildflower extract, I’m worried there’s rice / other no no’s secretly hidden in there as binding agents since the packaging / listing online is like all the typical red flags for a low quality & drop shipped item. He seems to like the sticks better than the timothy puck shape chews, like the hearts or flat ones you would find on a hanging chew. I love the idea of having compacted hay chews available at all times for working on his incisors without disrupting his gut too much, especially since he’s a flat faced lop and therefore prone to incisor malocclusion!!! Curious to know y’all’s thoughts- am I being crunchy bun parent paranoid, or do you have any better go-tos to have on hand daily that won’t be too sugary nor break my bank?? 👀

We put our 10 year old Californian to sleep on Friday and I've felt so empty inside since then.

She was my precious angel in life for 9 years (I adopted her when she was already 1) and it's hurt so much to let her go.

Her health had been slowly going downhill for multiple years at this point. She was an E. Cuniculi bun with arthritis and possibly hip dysplasia at the end. Her hips started splaying out and she stopped being able to make it to the bathroom consistently. She couldn't clean herself off and it hurt for me to pick her up with her arthritis. We spent thousands at the vet the last few years to give her the best life, but it just seemed to be too much pain at this point.

We've been moving her partner bun to our living room to free roam during the day when we're down there, but at night we move him back to the room they used to share. Whenever I go near that room I break down crying. I just picture her running out to greet me as she did for years.

I'm thinking about moving our other bun downstairs full time in a double wide x-pen so neither of us have to be in that room for a bit. I don't want to clean out the room and wash away her memories, but I know I need to at least clean the blankets and rug since she was messy near the end. It just feels like removing her even more from the house.

Long story short, how did you guys handle loss of one of your buns?

So, my sister got tired of taking care of the rabbit named Roger, but I loved him so much I offered to take him, my sister didn't have the best care for him and I want to do better. Is there anything I should get or change for him?

Every time I ban him from the couch he just comes right back up. I swear he thinks that HE pays the bills and that I’m just his royal subject.

She still believes she is small and can fit through small holes.

Hey all, wondering if anyone has used their bunnies poo as fertilizer, and what exactly you did? Did you just pop some "coco puffs" into your plants pots every so often or did you make a "poo tea" with it? So our bunny, Pua, came down with head tilt last week. (He will be 6 next month) We got him into the vet and on antibiotics immediately. He was diagnosed with a ruptured ear drum & ear infection.
The day after we started him on antibiotics, he started rolling…
His personality is sort of still there, but it’s been so flipping hard seeing him so exhausted and a shell of his former self.
At what point can you just not take anymore?

This appeared overnight and it’s been a week now. Any idea what is going on

This is Willow. Idk if it’s just me but she looks a little big. According to the shelter I got her from she’s a European/American mix. Is she overweight and what can I do about it?
