Community Discussion: AI Content

Upvotes

With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.

As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.

Suggestion

At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.

Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.

To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.

Community Participation

All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.

Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.

In particular, we would like to know the following:

  • What measure shall be applied to a post to determine if it is AI?
    • Gut feeling?
    • User reports?
    • AI detection tooling?
    • Dice roll?
  • What action must be completed by users posting this content?
    • Posting flair?
    • What if it’s a comment?
    • Should users fully disclose where the content came from (e.g: which model/site)?
  • What moderator action shall be executed on breach of the rule?
    • Content deletion?
    • User moderation (Ban?)
    • Content flairing?
    • What about comments? We cannot flair these, do we delete? Moderate? Ban?

Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

Can we try to remember to mark all sick/injured beardie media as NSFW? NSFW

Upvotes

I know that the rules of a subreddit are absolutely not the first thing on someone’s mind when their animal is hurting, so I totally get that mistakes are going to happen. But I just feel like I’ve been seeing a lottt more uncensored lizard gore on my timeline over the past few weeks, and it’s just really distressing to be scrolling normally and then suddenly have the entire screen fill with a pic/vid of your favorite animal suffering.

I don’t click on these posts but I still see them so often, and when they aren’t marked NSFW then everyone is forced to scroll past the full size uncensored media on their timeline without warning. Usually I am not even able to process the title before I notice I’m looking at something horrible :((

So please do try to mark any and all potentially distressing media as NSFW, even if there is no actual gore/visible injury—if they are sick or hurting at all, please mark it so that people can decide for themselves if they’re comfortable viewing it or not!

Can someone help me figure out what dog breed this is?

I took her out because she was doing her stompy stomp that means she wants into the out now (if you get the reference, you're awesome)

I originally didn't want to free her because she just laid eggs, but I eventually gave in. Now this princess is sleeping on my bed, she's so spoiled :D

Anyone with a zero beardie notice neurological issues?

Post image

I adopted a zero phase baby beardie that had lost its tail to siblings. He's been a great boy but I notice he's got some odd body postures. When he's basking, his back feet are cupped, like he hold them sole to sole.

I don't knownif this is because of his breeding, or nerve damage from losing his tail.

Is this a paradox/pied bearded dragon?

Hey guys, I work at a pet shop and we have a sweet baby in at the moment who I think is a pied bearded dragon. I have also seen them be called paradox? But he's got these white areas on his scales developing and the more he grows the more pop up. Is this some other morph? He's a central bearded translucent.

The laziest dragon. HELP

Post image

My boy is 2 years old and the vet says he’s perfectly healthy. I’ve done everything I know how to do to get him active but he just hates moving! He loves food but gives up after it gets too far. He loves water, it’s honestly his most active time. His temps are correct, basking area sits at 102. We use an Arcadia 12 desert uvb. We even switched to reptisand and soil to see if he’d prefer that over a mat! He seems happy and he’s very reactive to us but all he wants to do is cuddle and lay around. Any suggestions?

Help Aggressive beardie

Post image
Upvotes

I have a five year old male beardie, who was a little territorial and aggressive as a baby, but has been pretty docile since. Today he get aggressive and territorial out of no where towards me.
Any ideas? He normally such a sweet baby, although sometimes just a little territorial.

We normally let him free roam about two hours or so a day at least with free access to his tank. We were busy this weekend so he didn’t get to. Maybe he’s mad about that 😅

Help What else should I put in my beardies tank?

Post image
Upvotes

So, my baby beardie boy just got his brand new 120 gallon tank! 4x2x2 as per recommended sizing.

He has his uvb and basking all set up, and the tempature is also good for both the warm and cool side.

He has 2 structures to hide under, a branch, a water dish, a stick, and a couple fake logs. I have also bought the substrate supplies- play sand and topsoil.

I know he will need lots to hide under and climb on top of, what else should I buy him?

also, is it safe for me to get sticks from outside and put them in his tank? should I sanitize them first somehow?

advice greatly appreciated. photo is of the little idiot watching netflix with me :)

Help Bearded dragon hasn’t ate in almost a week

He’s stopped eating all of a sudden, since Wednesday last week, and seems to have a lot less energy than usual. He’s maybe 3-6 months old, was eating tons of crickets up until then, and has since stopped eating. He’s maybe drinks water, I’ll put him in the bath and he’ll drink up. Should I be concerned? The poop on the log is from just now, just white no other color. Anyone with experience that can give me some info would be appreciated. Thanks!
