Okay, I just had a pretty awesome surprise on my American Airlines flight today 😂

Their in-flight entertainment has an exclusive AWOLNATION “Center Stage” interview with Aaron Bruno. From what I can tell, it seems like it was recorded sometime after The Phantom Five but before the new Barbarians of California album MEGATONS came out.

Here’s the part that really caught my attention: unless I’m completely misunderstanding what he’s saying, Aaron basically talks about AWOLNATION working toward another/new album. this interview was sick. He did some deep dives about some of our favorite OG tracks! Highly recommend to listen!

I don’t want to call this an official confirmation without somebody else hearing it, so has anyone else listened to this interview? Can somebody confirm I’m hearing this correctly?
Because if I am… we may have just gotten a very low-key hint at the next AWOLNATION album through American Airlines of all places 😂

When I first heard about Barbarians I had no idea how hard they would go. Takes real talent to be able to jump between genres and still make actually interesting songs.

My wife and I were listening to Makua ft. AWOLNATION – "Catch A Wave", and she instantly went "wait, this sounds exactly like Hayley Williams' 'Dead Horse.'" Now I can't unhear it.

We dug around and couldn't find any official mention of it being a sample, so now I'm extra curious. Coincidence, homage, or am I just losing it?

Would love to know if anyone else caught this or knows the backstory.

Overall, a really fun show. Aaron did a great job of getting the crowd really engaged for such a neutral venue. He also mentioned they’re working on some new songs right now.

Wanted to share for anyone in Colorado! Friday Pilots Club will be opening who are a fun, up-and-coming band.

hi friends! I have been a long time listener of AWOLNATION and grew up with the music. I'll be turning 25 in less than a week and I have been scouring vinyl and second hand/resell sites for like 3 months now hoping to pick up the Megalithic Symphony 10th Anniversary Edition vinyl set. I unfortunately wasn't able to buy it at the time and I've been kicking myself over it since then.

Would anyone happen to know of ANYWHERE that has it in stock? Or have a set they'd be willing to sell?

Vinyl Vista lists it as "in stock" but on back order by 3-6mos, and there's an amazon seller that has it listed at an insane $160, but I am very wary of both options for one reason or another 💔 Any help would be very much appreciated!

In several parts of the clips we can see the "Phantom 5" concept, that later became the last album. How do you think it is related in the narrative? Also, how do you interpret the videos? I mean, in "Freaking Me Out" it looks like Aaron got captured but the other 4 guys didn't (with Aaron they might be the Phantom 5?); however, in "We are all insane" we can see how he might be playing pretend to be crazy, or at least that's what I understand :)

Is there by chance any handwritten lyrics to any songs by Aaron? I'd like to get a tattoo with his handwriting.

I also don't know if it's considered weird in the awol fandom to do that. I'm part of the Bastille fandom and a lot of us have Dan's (the singer) handwriting tattooed on us.

For me, the first time I heard Sail and it was on Channel 4 (I think) a few years ago where they'd have short videos about midnight, random sports stuff set to music and it was the Jeb Corliss wingsuit flying clip (grinding the crack), an amazing video and the music just suited it to perfection, I vividly remember him flying so close to the ground and hitting the balloons that his mate was holding, superb stuff. I remember downloading the song after that and then the album....etc etc. Superb band. Currently listening to The Barbarians of California...equally brilliant

They absolutely kicked ass again. Easily the best and most fun of the openers for Poison The Well. Makes me happy to see Aaron and the guys having so much fun with this project. Fingers crossed we’re still getting one or two new AWOL singles and maybe that stripped down/acoustic record this year.

Hope this is a welcome place to post this. BOC doesn't have its own sub yet and every single track these guys put out is phenomenal. Can't wait to see them live again if they make it back to the east coast.
