Banned Common Topics & Overused Designs
To keep the subreddit's content fresh and engaging, posts covering extremely common tropes, software bugs or over-reported topics are strictly prohibited. These posts will be removed under Rule 4.
Websites & Online Services:
- Literally anything involving Reddit, YouTube, Google, G2A, Quora, Facebook, Twitter (X), TikTok or other major websites.
- Loaded/biased surveys.
- Fake gift card/winner ads ("You've been selected to win $1000!").
- Obfuscated or multi-step unsubscribe links.
- Difficult cookie-management interfaces, "pay-to-decline" cookie choices.
- Designs implemented solely to comply with legal/regulatory mandates.
- Websites breaking due to active browser add-ons or ad blockers.
Software:
- Fake notification dots/numbers built into app icons.
- Apps requesting unnecessary permissions.
- Pre-installed bloatware on Android devices.
- Desktop popup overlays (e.g., McAfee security alerts).
- Predatory mobile game practices.
- The mere presence of AI as a service or feature, unless the implementation is uniquely underhanded.
Products:
- Excessive packaging (plastic/cardboard waste) and slack-fill packaging designed to make a product appear larger.
- Physical junk mail or unsolicited promotional offers.
Advertisements:
- Playable/"interactive" ads.
- Fake or microscopic close buttons
- Fake countdown timers ("Sale ends in X minutes").
- Long, often unskippable, video advertisements
Mods reserve the right to remove posts about topics not explicitly listed here if they have been posted frequently in recent days.
Even if your topic is not on this list, please search the subreddit using relevant keywords to ensure it hasn't already been submitted recently.
