Banned Common Topics & Overused Designs

To keep the subreddit's content fresh and engaging, posts covering extremely common tropes, software bugs or over-reported topics are strictly prohibited. These posts will be removed under Rule 4.

Websites & Online Services:

• Literally anything involving Reddit, YouTube, Google, G2A, Quora, Facebook, Twitter (X), TikTok or other major websites.
• Loaded/biased surveys.
• Fake gift card/winner ads ("You've been selected to win $1000!").
• Obfuscated or multi-step unsubscribe links.
• Difficult cookie-management interfaces, "pay-to-decline" cookie choices.
• Designs implemented solely to comply with legal/regulatory mandates.
• Websites breaking due to active browser add-ons or ad blockers.

Software:

• Fake notification dots/numbers built into app icons.
• Apps requesting unnecessary permissions.
• Pre-installed bloatware on Android devices.
• Desktop popup overlays (e.g., McAfee security alerts).
• Predatory mobile game practices.
• The mere presence of AI as a service or feature, unless the implementation is uniquely underhanded.

Products:

• Excessive packaging (plastic/cardboard waste) and slack-fill packaging designed to make a product appear larger.
• Physical junk mail or unsolicited promotional offers.

Advertisements:

• Playable/"interactive" ads.
• Fake or microscopic close buttons
• Fake countdown timers ("Sale ends in X minutes").
• Long, often unskippable, video advertisements
