Since moving into a dorm I’ve been getting bombarded with random texts about fake jobs, package deliveries, account problems, and stuff pretending to be related to school. I can’t tell why this is happening, it started about a month ago and it has kept ramping up ever since. I’ve used it for school forms and food delivery, you know normal stuff. Has anyone else noticed a jump in scam texts after starting college?

Hey everyone,
I'm a university student trying to use text-to-speech tools like Speechify to help with studying (especially for listening to notes while commuting), but it's a bit pricey for me right now.
Does anyone know if they offer student discounts, promo codes, or if there are any legit cheaper alternatives with similar voice quality? I'd really appreciate any advice!
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I’m an international student in Germany and I really need some urgent advice. Every time I sit down to study, I get hit with severe brain fog, zero focus, and endless daydreaming. Honestly, my Instagram screen time is through the roof. Deleting the app helps temporarily, but I need a real, long-term solution. My exams are in just a few days. I already failed my first intake because of this, and I absolutely cannot afford to repeat that mistake. Worse yet, I know these habits are completely standing in the way of my dream to build a successful career abroad. Any tips to snap out of this, save my semester, and get my future back on track?

Hello, I feel totally lost in life right now. I was an engineering aspirant but i realized that i genuinely cannot study engineering for the life of me
I want to pursue design so so badly but I'm terrified. I'm terrified because my parents insist that I'm not talented or qualified enough to pursue design, that I cannot do this and I may be unemployed in the future
Today i think I had enough of feeling depressed for all these months and finally told my parents I can't pursue engineering at all.
I feel horrible. I feel like I'm giving up without trying but I also don't know if i can go on any longer
I don't know if I made the right decision at all

Okay so, I know this may come of as like “stupid” or something, but genuinely how do you get a job as a 16 yr old student? Cause in this economy everything is expensive and I feel bad for asking my parents for money to help maintain everything from the bills, to the water, the gasoline, groceries, and my allowance. I try budgeting (my allowance) which is why I can pay for stuff like the water, and whatnot. I even just lie and say that Im “busy” when friends ask to hang out or something cause I don’t want to spend much money when hanging out, and whenever classmates borrow money to pay for projects I feel guilty just asking or reminding them to pay back 😓
Like I need something preferably online, cause I don’t have personal transport, I use public transport, and within the Philippines as well, and flexible schedules or timelines cause i’m a stem med student in shs 😓

genuine question for the international audience here.
in india, we have reservation: government jobs, medical seats, engineering colleges, all allocated based on caste categories. the cutoff marks tell the story. some categories need 40% to qualify, others need 99%.
the stated purpose is uplifting marginalized communities. fair enough in theory.
but here's what nobody mentions: many of these marginalized families hold massive capital, political power, generational wealth. the chief minister's children still get the 40% quota. the wealthy landlord's kids still access reserved seats.
meanwhile, a poor student from a non listed category watches their 99% go to waste.
affirmative action in the us considers socioeconomic factors. malaysia has something similar. but india's system is purely hereditary. your great grandfather's caste determines your cutoff, not your bank balance.
the result? a creamy layer that keeps benefiting generation after generation, while actual poverty gets ignored because it wears the "wrong" caste label.

Hello all . It's been a year since I joined masters and somehow I just can't study. I had decent grades throughout my academic years and had never faced issue with motivation to study. Since I joined masters i am just not able to study, even when there's an exam just the next day. I have tried phone locks, timers, apps that help you study but nothing is actually working at this moment. It's not that I hate my degree...I love it..but still for some reason I just can't make myself study. I don't know what to do..any suggestions??

So, am 17, and I have alot of study to do, like am trying to study bout 12 hrs a day, and i rly hate the time between 6am- 11am after that it's cool, and i usually sleep rly late around 4:30-5 am, i usually start studying at around 1pm and try to do it till 5-6 am, but rly struggle with loneliness, as am home alone at night, and it's rly quiet at that time, and also cuz i don't have any friends irl anymore, I sorta feel like I wanna hangout with my friends at night, as I have alot of online friends on discord, we play games and stuff, I rly enjoy with them, but I have to sacrifice my studies for that, and if do it anymore, my life's basically over as my dad can't afford to pay for my college, i have to get a scholarship for which I need to study hard, and which am not rly doing, it's not like i dont like studying, it's like at that time, i need friends, as I don't leave my house at all, I don't even wanna go out, as theres nothing interesting😭, i jst feel like am cheating with my parents, as they think am studying at home while am not, I rly wanna get into my dream college, but idk what to do, Idk how to surpass that loneliness and talking to my friends jst give me that feeling of fellowship,
If u guys have any tips on how to surpass and stay productive, at that time between 10pm- 5am that will help me alot🥹
Ur comment his highly appreciated🙏🏿🙏🏿

Hi everyone, I’m working on a small academic project and need a few student responses for my research. If you have a couple of minutes, I’d really appreciate your help. It’s just a short survey and your response would be genuinely helpful. Thanks!
