Quick Survey: Finding Teammates for Projects & Events

Hey, I’m doing a short survey for my class about how people find teammates for projects, hackathons, events, and other group activities.

It takes about 1–2 minutes and your responses would really help me out. Thanks! 🙏

Need Help Finding Strategic Management in Action, 6th edition by Mary Coulter

Upvotes

Hello! Anyone know where to find textbooks for free. These prices are outrageous, and I only need it for 3-4 months, and Pearson is charging $70 for 6 months, which I don't need. Thank you!

Career Is choosing a career actually an information problem?

Upvotes

Students today have access to more career information than ever: degrees, courses, job boards, AI tools, assessments, and advice.

Yet many still struggle with one basic question:

“What should I actually do?”

Maybe the problem isn't lack of information. Maybe it's the lack of a good decision-making process.

Curious what others think. What makes career decisions difficult for you?

Art History Textbook 🫩🫩

Upvotes

Hello!! Does anyone perchancably know of a resource with/have access to “Art History, 7th Edition” by Marilyn Stokstad and Michael W. Cothren?

I’ve scoured the internet to find a free alternative and looked up and down on any of the resources I could think of, but have had no luck. I can’t afford the Pearson copy and I need this textbook for both of my terms 💔

Looking for advice on my college/career path after completing GED through Amazon Career Choice

Upvotes

I recently completed my GED and I'm trying to figure out the best path for my education and career.

I currently work full-time at Amazon, 40 hours a week over 4 days in FHD, so I have 3 days off each week. I'm considering starting at Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis, because it seems more affordable and flexible while I continue working.

My current plan is:

GED → Ivy Tech Associate of Science in Business Administration (TSAP) → transfer to a 4-year university for a bachelor's degree → eventually MBA

However, I'm a little concerned because when I look at Ivy Tech, the graduation/completion rate and employment/job placement rate don't are in lower than average. I'm wondering how much I should actually consider those statistics when deciding whether Ivy Tech is the right choice.

My long-term goal is to move into a business/management-related career, but I'm still deciding which area would be best, such as Business Analytics, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or Operations.

I'd really appreciate advice from people who have experience with Ivy Tech or a similar community-college-to-university pathway.

A few questions:

  1. Is getting the AS in Business Administration at Ivy Tech through the TSAP pathway and then transferring a good strategy?

  2. How important are Ivy Tech's graduation/completion and job-placement rates when considering the school?

  3. Do employers generally view an Ivy Tech associate degree positively, especially if I later transfer and earn a bachelor's degree from a university?

  4. Would it be better to go directly into a bachelor's program instead of spending two years at Ivy Tech?

  5. Which bachelor's specialization would you recommend for good career opportunities and earning potential over the next 5–10 years?

  6. Is an MBA worth pursuing after the bachelor's, and would it be better to work for a few years before getting one?

  7. Since I work 40 hours a week over 4 days, is taking around 6–9 credits per semester realistic?

I'm not trying to finish as quickly as possible. My priorities are to keep working, avoid taking on too much student debt, get a bachelor's degree, and build a career with good long-term opportunities.

I'd appreciate any honest advice, especially from people who have attended Ivy Tech, transferred from a community college to a university, or completed a BBA/BS and later an MBA.

Thanks!

🌱 I’m looking for students who have 7 days to spare for something meaningful

Upvotes

Okay, this might sound like a very small thing, but I genuinely think giving someone your time can sometimes mean more than we realise.

I’m a student building Echoes of Impact, a small initiative centred around young people connecting with the elders around them.

And I'm currently looking for student volunteers!

The volunteering is pretty simple. For 7 days, you spend some time with an elder around you — maybe your grandparent, neighbour, family member, or someone else in your community.

You can talk to them, listen to their stories, play a game, read together, do an activity, or honestly just sit and have a conversation.

There isn't a complicated task list or any previous experience required.

You just document your experience through:

📸 3–5 photographs

✍️ 1–2 short reflections/blogs about what you did, what you learned, stories they shared, and what the experience meant to you.

After completing the volunteering, you'll receive a Certificate of Completion + confirmation of your volunteer hours.

If this sounds like something you'd genuinely enjoy being part of, I'd love to have you. :)

📩 Email: weeping1willow11@gmail.com

Subject: Volunteer

That's it. Just send an email saying Volunteer, and I'll send you the details. 🌿

I feel like I’m alive, but I don’t feel alive anymore.

Upvotes

I’m 23 years old and a final-year university student. From the outside, I’m just another student going through university. But internally, I feel completely disconnected from life.

Sometimes I describe myself as “dead inside, but still breathing.”

For the past three years of university, I have barely participated in anything. My class participation is almost zero. My performance and creativity have suffered badly. I have never asked a question in class, not even once. I can’t even raise my hand when I want to say something.

I feel shy, scared, and extremely insecure. I constantly compare myself to others and feel like I’m somehow less than everyone around me.

I look around and see people laughing, talking, making friends, joining societies, attending events, going to the cafeteria, and simply enjoying their university life.

And then there’s me.

I don’t have any close friends. I rarely attend events or join groups. In fact, sometimes I can’t even sit in the cafeteria because I feel extremely uncomfortable, as if everyone is watching and judging me.

I know logically that most people probably aren’t even thinking about me. But my mind doesn’t let me believe that.

I feel trapped inside myself.

The hardest part is that I don't want to live like this anymore.

I want to live.
I want to make friends.
I want to talk to people without being terrified.
I want to participate in class.
I want to go to events.
I want to sit in a cafeteria without feeling like I need to escape.
I want to laugh, create things, experience life, and feel connected to the world around me.

I’m only 23, but sometimes I feel like I have already wasted the most important years of my life.

Is it possible to change at this point?

If anyone has gone through something similar, especially extreme shyness, social anxiety, inferiority, isolation, or feeling emotionally disconnected from life, I would genuinely appreciate hearing how you got out of it.

I don't want sympathy. I want guidance.

What small steps can I start taking to reconnect with people and with life?

I want to feel alive again.
