Mt Washington "Honor Summit" 9/11 Memorial "Tribute in Light" planned.
Two large vertical columns of light will be illuminated from the top of Mt Washington similar to the "Tribute in Light" displays in New York City. It will be illuminated from September 9th to September 12th. The organizers expect it will be visible from over 100 mile radius.

Ask NH I am wondering if people from Derry/Londonderry know about their towns namesake?
Hello, i am from Derry/Londonderry in Northern ireland. Those of us who know about the Derry and londonderry here often laugh at the Towns names and i am hoping to provide some insight to those unaware by telling you all some of my cities history. Back in the 16/1700's the British crown wanted ireland to be more loyal to them so they did something called a "plantation" which was essentially kicking the native irish off their land and giving it to British people in my county of Derry, we were special, our county was given to the "12 london companies" to develop more, they build houses, schools etc and they did such a "good" job that as a thanks the British crown added "London" to the start of our city name, so we became "Londonderry" however obviously the native irish were not very happy about the name of a foreign capital added to our name (image Derry being called Ottawaderry). So the irish community still call it Derry and then the colonies in america started being made and this is where our histories merge. So if you were ever wondering what that was about, then theres your answer. I can answer questions
TL;DR: a bunch of British people wanted ireland to be British so they gave my city to london companies and in their honour my city was renamed but half the population didn't like it, we then went to NH and created the towns of derry and londonderry

Ask NH If you were to live anywhere besides NH, where would it be?
If you were to live elsewhere, by choice or necessity, where else would you live and why?
For me, the "less than ideal" factors about living in NH include housing cost, winter cold and snow, summer humidity, and the ticks and mosquitoes. But there isn't anywhere else in the country without these or other problems, so I still think NH is a relative gem.

Ask NH Registering an ANTIQUE motorcycle in New Hampshire (special plates?)
I've owned and registered plenty of cars in NH but never registered a motorcycle here, let alone an antique one. I own a 1984 Moto Guzzi California II that's currently in storage in Arizona that needs to come home! This bike has been registered by me in both NJ and AZ and I have the title. Never registered it as an antique in either state, but it easily clears the 25 year old threshold to qualify as "antique" in NH. I also understand the 'maintained for exhibitions, club activities, parades, and public interest functions, and not for commercial use or intended as daily drivers' rule for antique plates, which is fine.
What I can't figure out is if there are special NH "ANTIQUE MOTORCYCLE" plates currently given out by the DMV. Would love to see what they look like if so. Seems like if you score your own NH moto plate somewhere from the same year as your motorcycle you can even register that (with a bunch of caveats) which is cool but I'm not dealing with all that just yet.
Edit: spelling. also Yes, I have Googled this

Anyone here growing sunchokes?
I harvested some red cabbage and have some space in my garden. I’m thinking of putting in sunchokes and wondering if it’s worth it. I read you can plant them late fall and I’m trying to plan out next year’s crops/where everything will go. Currently have about 24 sf of unused space that they could potentially go in, just curious how they grow in our area.

Discussion ezpass past 7 days
went through one of the ezpass tolls in nh and i dont have a transponder. i should have logged in within 7 days to pay but it slipped my mind.
i am now at 40 days and haven't received an invoice. i can't figure out anyway online to pay without getting the invoice number. does anyone know of a different way to pay or how long it takes to get an invoice?
i really dont want a 1 dollar toll to turn into a 30 dollar bill just cause there system stinks.

What's a fair price to ask for seasoned firewood, not delivered?
I have about 2-3 or so cords of split, seasoned hardwood. About two years ago, I got four cords as my state fuel assistance. For various reasons, I can't really use most of it any longer, but I'd like to get some value out of it. When I got it it was green, and it's been loosely stacked for airflow and covered by a tarp.
It's currently behind my house. I have no way to deliver it. To collect it, someone would have to park in the driveway and move the wood about 40-50 feet across the side yard. (level ground) There is no way to get a truck any closer. I have a big wheelbarrow that could be used. I don't care if the grass gets a bit torn up with many trips.
What would be a fair price under these conditions? I'm in the Lakes Region if that matters.
