Today I Learned: Dom Pedro II the Emperor of Brazil appeared in an anime

Anime: Time Travel Shoujo: Mari Waka to 8-nin no Kagakusha-tachi (also known as Time Travel Girl).

Episodes: Episodes 8 and 9, which focus on the life and inventions of Alexander Graham Bell.

Context: The episodes accurately portray the real-life historical connection between Dom Pedro II and Graham Bell. The Emperor of Brazil visits Bell's school for deaf students, marvels at his work, and later helps champion telephone technology and Bell's inventions internationally.

Clarification: I used the History flair because of the time travel theme of the anime.

I read somewhere that it is a reference to the Order of the Holy Spirit, which was awarded by the king of France before the Revolution.

I have tried to research this scenario but I keep drawing blanks… 

I have a fictional country, let’s call it Doggerland (it’s a well trodden trope but let’s run with it). In its early days it was independent and had its own kings. Three of them were called ‘Erik’ so their regnal numbers are of course Erik I, Erik II, and Erik III.

But then it’s conquered by Denmark. Denmark then, per reality, has 8 Eriks of its own (before all the Christians and Frederiks).

Question: If these Eriks were kings of Denmark and Doggerland, would Erik I of Denmark also be Erik IV of Doggerland? And, if Doggerland later became independent of Denmark and then had a new King Erik, does he become Erik XI (3 Doggerland Eriks plus 8 Danish Eriks)?

A new life-size bronze statue of Queen Elizabeth II has been unveiled outside Romsey Abbey in Hampshire, four years in the making since the project began around the time of her Platinum Jubilee.

I specify "Chinese-style" rather than "Ottoman-style" because concubines in the Chinese harem were often of noble birth, unlike their Ottoman counterparts, who were all slave women.

Furthermore, a Chinese monarch could have only one queen or empress; a concubine's son could succeed to the throne only if the queen had no son. The titles and status of the queen's children were superior to those of the concubines' children—a practice more akin to European culture.

I don’t understand why so much of the world hates the monarchy. I understand that it can be criticized, but people often focus only on the negative aspects and overlook its historical and cultural importance, as well as the functions it still serves in some countries. For example, in the United Kingdom, the Crown has representative, ceremonial, and diplomatic functions. I also think it is often overlooked that, for many people, the monarchy is part of their country’s identity and traditions.
