My boss is very wishy washy. He is also hyper sensitive about things that (in my opinion) are not a big deal.
The pros: he calls me in when other people call out. That means he knows I am reliable.
He is social and confident.
The cons:
He gets offended if i forget to say "hi" to him when i walk into the store. Even though he did not say "hi" either. I guess ge expects me to say it first. If i dont say "hi" as soon as I walk into the store he says "You didn't say "hi" to me this morning." And he seems genuinely offended by it. I even told one of our coworkers "He is so sensitive" after she heard what he said to me. Then she agreed with me.
He is very nosey about my personal life. He once had a time where he snuck up behind me and bent down low enough to where his nose almost touched my phone screen while i was texting. When he did that I said "You are so nosey!" Then he laughed and said "Yes I am." I was already clocked out when that happened. I don't understand why he was being nosey about my phone like that. It seemed very unprofessional.
He seems to criticize how i communicate. He says that he gets frustrated if I am too quiet at work and that he needs me to speak up more after he tells me directions at work so that he knows that i heard him.
He gets upset if he sees me texting on my phone even though I have seen him and my coworkers use their phones a lot more often than me. I usually only use my phone in the back. I dont use it in front of the customers. I dont understand why its okay when everyone else uses their phone at work but when I use my phone he doesnt like it.
He tells me to speed up a lot.
He changes which station he wants me to work at a lot and sometimes tells me to work multiple stations a lot.
He use to make "jokes" about wanting to make me a manager but I couldnt tell if he was joking or not. When I asked him later if he was serious he said "We can have a conversation" but that conversation never happened.
He had one time where he asked me "are you lonely?" Out of nowhere. I don't know why he asked me that.
He seemed surprised when I told him I have a kid. All of my bosses seemed surprised about that. I did not tell them that I have a kid until much later cause I did not want to be discriminated against.
He changes my schedule last minute a lot. The schedule is made very last minute all the time and even after the schedule is made they still either tell me to either stay later or work a double or to clock out early even if it doesn't match what the schedule says.
He seems genuinely upset if he finds out I have a day off.
A few days ago when someone called out he kept calling me a lot until i finally answered and then he called me in.
He had one time where he rubbed one of my shoulders randomly. I couldnt tell if he did it as flirting or as being socially awkward or to be reassuring or what.
Almost everytime he works the same day as me he always finds more stuff to criticize. Its making me feel like I suck at my job.
I am a woman in my 30's. He is a man who is in his 50's.
