I know he only had like 3 minutes of screen time. I KNOW. But there’s something about the writing that makes the whole concept of dreams so haunting.

It’s not that it wasn’t haunting with Helaena. it’s just that I feel the way she dealt with her dreams depended on what the writers needed for a particular scene. It kept changing.

Aemma was also cool

Daemon’s vision of Daenerys was just vague enough that given his supremacist beliefs, he took it as a sign that the Targaryen empire will grow eastwards. I don’t think he’d have seen it as her being the last Targaryen. That possibility probably didn’t even occur to him.

I think the vision made him feel more confident that he needs to conquer more to add to the Targaryen destiny. And also gave him the confidence that they’d win and dragons would rule forever.

I’m not talking about Rhaenys, but I don’t understand why Laena and Laenor were allowed to have dragons.

We don’t have any information about how Laena claimed Vhagar, so this is obviously working on the assumption she was allowed to approach her, and then also working on the assumption that it was either the same for Laena and Seasmoke or he got an egg.

The Velaryons are already super powerful due to being so rich, and giving them dragons gives them even more influence because a) they now have dragons and bigger one (meleys, seasmoke and vhagar) against essentially just Caraxes assuming Daemon is being reliable and Rhaenyra later but their dragons are bigger b) It makes them basically a given to be married into the family to secure the dragons and the dragon blood

I would take it as far as to say that even giving Rhaena and Baela eggs (i’m assuming or did daemon steal them idk?) was also a bad idea essentially for the same reasons. I also think having too many dragonriders is just a bad idea because it gives other parties too much influence over the royal family - I think Jaehaerys was right in limiting which of his children had dragons (from a political standpoint) though I know that was also due to the faith- otherwise you essentially have cadet branches and houses other than the targaryens with dragon.

Obviously at the point of the dance it was helpful, but I’m talking about no pre-dance when the desicion was made

If I were her, I would do the following:

1. i would take wards/hostages from houses important houses that supported the greens- e.g Jason Lannisters heir (idk his name)

2. Addam and Alyn are legitimised, there is no reason not to given joffrey is now heir to the throne

3. demand financial compensation from the major houses, minor houses that played important roles for the greens have their lands seized and given to houses loyal to the blacks

4. wardships are arranged for Aegon and Viserys, one to the vale and one somewhere else (idk where tbh) OR I woulf agree to send one of them (probably viserys) to either the Citadel or the faith

5. Jaehaera is kept under lock and key in kings landing

6. i wouldn’t kill the pope

this just popped into my head but:

powerful seat in westeros
important trade point- italy had some of the key trading points (e.g venice)
the centre of the faith- the catholic church in rome
houses the citadel- italy was also a huge cultural centre with art, philosophy, engineering etc

This armour is much different from the others, as it is designed to be form-fitted towards Aemond's body making it almost skin tight. It is inspired by gothic style armour with the Targaryen elements infused to it.

This armour looks great as usual with costume department but I am not a big fan of the pauldrons. I think they could been done better considering the standard set by other armour pauldrons.

Also I find it funny that they made the mannequin to look like Ewan Mitchell.

Missed opportunity

Not hating on Emma Darcy; I just find this one image funny. It reminds me of r/compoface

this is for both book and show: in the books, he's excited to marry cassandra baratheon immediately without even a proper funeral for helaena & he wanted statues made for his brothers but not his own wife? in the books, aegon doesnt gaf about his dragon either bc he says he'll get a new sunfyre. rhaenyra would NEVER. for all the yapping about him being a bare minimum father, he ditched jahaera and helaena on the show. the show didn't make him look bad or a monster; he was always that way and TG stans cannot accept that (they keep hyping him as a "family man" 🤣). this dude can't speak valyrian, killed his own dragon, and doesnt gaf about anyone else. forget being king, he's barely a decent human🤣 rhaenyra lost FIVE kids and was usurped and is a walking trauma bag but she was a decent person before her descent into madness. she is the ideal fit for the throne, her sheer strength blows me away✨

I've noticed that both Sabitha Frey, Olenna Tyrell, and the Septas of the Seven wear a very distinctive hooded/veiled head covering. Olenna's is explicitly described by the actress, Diana Rigg (R.I.P.) as a "wimple", while Sabitha's appears to be a similar coif-and-veil style. If that question is answered, what do you think the significance of such a garment is and why it's only older women that often wear it? Is it religious? Medical? I need answers!

I mean jace went to battle of gullet and was desperate to prove himself people might overlook that because my boi is handsome and then Luke took an eye and got chewed up by Vhagar, Jeoffrey rode syrax and fell to death, Aegon was ok but bro was traumatised and eventually there was viserys.We see her interacting with Jace mostly but whose death was the worse for her???

The storywriters failed from the beginning by writing her as this free spirited girl as a child whom can do no wrong which she was free spirited in the book but she was also vain and spoiled and that's what made her so interesting. She was a lot more like Cersei was as a child than how rhaenyra was. Rhaenyra should have been written more like Cersei Lannister in the show because they were such similar characters and they just went in this whole other direction. I had this thought because I keep seeing people saying that "Rhaenyra needs to act like Cersei if she wants to keep her throne" and she literally did she literacy told Orlys "Tell my half brother I will have my throne or I will have his head." like moments like this are just so iconic and impeccable that it can't be left out yet they did and it saddens me

In the book, Halaena is described as having been loved by the smallfolk. In the show, however, she's much more secluded/detached. Neither of these is bad on their own (especially TV Halaena) but I think there was a way to merge them:

Have Halaena's real personality be just like it is in the show: secluded, quiet, shy, etc.. But then have Alicent force her to make empowering speeches in season 2 when support for the Greens is waning. This way, the public sees Halaena as this charismatic figure while Halaena is still the shy girl we know (Kinda Like Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games).

I'm not a writer or anything, but IMO this would've fixed the problem of the smallfolk's rebellion having no real catalyst, and also would've added a bit more depth to Alicent's (butchered) character.

Book-only reconstruction of the Battle of the Honeywine from Fire & Blood.

I went with roughly 10,000 Greens against 12,000 Blacks, with each block representing about 1,000 men. The sequence starts with Ormund Hightower being harried on the march, then follows the Black attack from two directions, the Hightower line being driven back against the river, and finally Daeron arriving on Tessarion and reversing the battle.

The broad course, major events, and outcome follow the book, but Fire & Blood does not describe the fighting in this much tactical detail. Exact formations, cavalry movements, archer targets, rates of advance, and some positioning are therefore my reconstruction, intended to make the battle behave like a plausible field engagement without changing what actually happens in the story.

I also wanted to give some attention to the part of Daeron’s story that earned him the name “the Daring.”

This armour is a really good piece of costume. All the different metal pieces interlocked together give the appearance of dragon scales. The chainmail choif and sleeves are impressive and the middle of the torso piece being dragon glass/obsidian is a brilliant detail.

I love a good cape and this fabric for the cape is one of my favourite materials for Rhaenyra. I just wish it was floor length but I will take it as it is.
