Our timeline: During WWII, the US government commissioned Walt Disney to make propaganda cartoon shorts, which Walt was glad to do because the money kept Disney afloat during wartime.

The US government was worried that the Nazis would recruit South American nations or even volunteers from those countries to SS battalions. In fact, in our timeline we know Argentina was uncomfortably friendly with Nazis even harboring them after the war.

Part of this campaign entailed Disney making a movie to connect and bring about friendship between North and South America. Saludos Amigos was specifically made in order to warm relations between USA and South America, and film and military historians both generally agree it did what it was supposed to. Saludos Amigos debuted in Rio de Janeiro in 1942 with much fanfare and was received well in all countries in Latin America.

Point of Diversion: the film is made and it backfires spectacularly. South American audiences and governments are offended by the caricatures and perceived stereotypes. As a result of the film highly offending all SA nations, combined with diplomatic efforts by Ribbentrop, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Panama, and Paraguay declare war on the United States of America and immediately begin hostilities.

For example germany was captured and etc same thing happened whatever german forces and land was captured by the soviets and by the allied forces were still the same

But what if russia decided to atk the allied forces as well? And now they have german technology to use at their disposal

What would have happened?

Assuming germany didnt call the bluff and put the panzer reserves from pas de calais to normandy what would have hapeend?

1. Would the allied forces still be able to secure a foothold even with the heavy armor addition of germans? Or would they have been forced to retreat? And assuming allied forces retreated then i assume they need several months to a year probably to replace the assets lost in the faiiled attempt, then would the germans have added more firepower on the east to withstand the soviets and will the soviets have suceeded still or failed?

2. If the soviets still succeeded, without allied presence in the east would they have conquered the whole place and not just the capital? What would that entail if it happened?

So basically, Saddam Hussein decides to buy weapons with cash, French, American, and I mean every freaking item and weapon on the list, instead of the loans (Iraq just buys it for sake in the scenario, ignore limitations, it just buys it with cash, but other than that, war goes on as real 1980s)

Let’s say it’s October 27th, 1950, and Truman orders a large group of ships to blockade the Chinese Coastline following their intervention in the Korean War. Let’s say about 80-100 vessels. How does this affect Chinese intervention in Korea, and could this trigger Soviet Intervention?

I was thinking maybe some insane surgeries or some magical herbal medicine but i can’t find a straight answer

William Boyd played Hopalong Cassidy in 66 movies. as the genre declined in the 40's he acquired all rights, and began producing his own movies, as the studios had no interest in cowboys anymore.

In 1953 Boyd cut a deal with CBS to recut his moveis into half hours, and became the first TV star, and the first face on a lunch box. Cowboy films had been dead in Hollywood for some time, only the odd prestige period picture; after hopalong TV was dominated by cowboys, creating a renicauce in the genera and changing the place of the cowboy from a brief period of american history into the definition of americana.

so what happens if he never cuts a deal with CBS, and the cowboy has no special place in culture?

What would Europe look like if Napoleon had defeated the Seventh Coalition at Waterloo in 1815?

I've been working on Chronos, an alternate-history simulator, and I wanted to test it with a scenario that could create a huge chain of consequences.

The starting point is simple: Napoleon wins at Waterloo.

From there, the timeline can develop based on the decisions made and the events that follow. Instead of simply writing an alternate-history story, Chronos tries to simulate how one change can affect things like:

- Wars and diplomacy

- Countries and borders

- Political leaders

- Technology

- Trade and economies

- Succession and historical figures

- Major historical events

The interesting part is seeing where the timeline ends up after the initial divergence. A victory at Waterloo doesn't necessarily mean "Napoleon conquers Europe forever." There are still other countries, political pressures, technological changes, and unexpected events that can push the timeline in completely different directions.

I'm still very early in development, so this is definitely a prototype and there are bugs and historical inaccuracies I'm working on.

I'd really like to hear from people who love thinking about alternate history:

If Napoleon had won at Waterloo, what do you think would be the most important consequence over the next 10–20 years?

Chronos

Giuseppe Garibaldi spent 14 years in South America, fighting in different conflicts in Brazil and Uruguay.

Let's imagine that he dies in Brazil. As a result he doesn't return to Europe and doesn't participate in the wars of the Italian unification.

There is no Garibaldi expedition to Naples and without him Piedmont doesn't annex Naples.

By 1870 the Italian peninsula is divided in 3 parts: the kingdom of Italy, that has the north (including the Veneto but not hhe Trentino) and most of the former Papal States, the kingdom of Naples and the remaining Papal States (Rome snd the Lazio as irl in 1860-1870).

The Kingdom of Italy becomes a quickly developing nation, completely immersed in the European scene and closet to Germany than to France. Since it doesn't reach the south of the peninsula it doesn't have aspirations in Albania, Tunisia or Lybia.

The Kingdom of Naples tries some liberal reforms, but the politicsl landscape is controlled by the great landowners and the Catholic Church. Meanwhile anarchists and agrarian socialists revolt continously. The low grade civil war between landowners and agrarian laborers make the country a kind of backwater.

But then, the Papal States are a real backwater. Controlled by Pius IX, that opposes any reform, and using the income of the tourists and pilgrims to embellish the capital, but not the rest, this rump state is not productive at all and only survives by charity.

With a divided Italy as such, how would affect the Europesn scene in the years previous to WWI? For instance there wouldn't be invasion of Lybia (that opened the Balkan wars).

Suppose the federal government had successfully Reconstructed the South.

They crushed the KKK, White League, Red Shirts, and other White Supremacist groups, reallocated land to the Freedmen and White yeoman farmers, secured Black civil rights, stamped out the Lost Cause myth, and overhauled the former Confederacy's agrarian economy into something more akin to the North.

What happens when this USA turns its attention to the west? Would it be more or less the same, with on-and-off wars, broken treaties, and reservations? Or would such a government be more ruthless in their efforts?

What if before Japan went to war with Qing Dynasty China, Spain decided to declare war on Japan.

With the official reason being Japanese funding Philippine rebels, while the private/political reason is for the King or Prime Minister to bring prestige and stability to their reign.

How would the conflict play out in the Pacific?

What effect would it have on Cuba and the William McKinley administration of the US?

And what political and societal effects would it have on Japan if it won the war?

Well, I've never seen anyone commenting on this, but from 1994 to 2005 there were a series of attempts by the American government to establish a Free Trade Area across the entire American continent, with the exception of Cuba.

But this coincided with the red tide in South America, and the matter was closed in 2005. But let's say they had reached an agreement and the treaty was implemented in 2005. What effect would that have on all the countries that are part of the treaty?

What would have happened if Canada, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Rhodesia and Nyasaland had decided to join forces with Germany out of dissatisfaction with Britain?

Would the Union have accepted?

We know that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ended in 2016 and we currently have a revival called Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, but what if the reboot never existed and the original series kept running instead of ending in 2016, basically becoming Disney Junior's PAW Patrol equivalent, except it doesn't take up the whole schedule?

If Kievan Rus' had survived the Mongol invasion, but the invasion had led to a strong centralization of power to ensure the survival of the state, what would happen if it subsequently decided to expand eastward in order to find a natural border, eventually reaching the Pacific Ocean?

So basically all the territories that were under the English crown in the Americas.

Canada, Bermuda, Bahamas, Florida, Jamaica, Antigua, St Kitts and Nevis, etc...

And not just joined the revolution but deliberately sent delegates to the continental meetings, overthrow their local governors, etc..

Basically the war is between the crown and all their English colonies in North America and the Caribbean.
