Not sure if this is the right subreddit but couldn’t find one for gt5. Decided to throw it back get back on some of my childhood games and I’m doing the IC 10 license test and it keeps freezing without fail in the same corner every time. Any solutions or what seems to be the problem?

I’ve been trying to gold the Grand Valley Highway 1 Circuit Experience for 7 days straight, probably 15+ hours a day at this point.
I’ve already golded all the normal licenses and several of the Master licenses, including the infamous Spa S-10.
But this one? I’m getting absolutely destroyed.
My current setup:
Controller
TC: 0
Brake Balance: +4
ABS: Default
Everything else: Off
My best lap is currently 1:49.335, while gold is 1:49.300.
So I’m literally 0.035 seconds away. 😭
And somehow that makes it even more frustrating, because I know the pace is there. I just can’t put the perfect lap together.
I’ve probably done hundreds of attempts at this point. One mistake, one tiny slide, one slightly bad exit and the whole lap is basically dead.
Controller players who have golded this CE — what am I missing?
Is there a specific sector/corner where I should be gaining a lot more time?
Any controller-specific tips?
Should I change BB from +4?
Or do I just need to accept that Grand Valley has broken me as a person? 💀

Finally figured out how to do texture swaps in PCSX2. Brings quite the twist for my 7th playthrough of Gran Turismo 4.

I completed the other 4 (Lago Maggiore, RBR, Alsace, Tsukuba) on the first try with at least a lap or two ahead of second place. These events are the only thing holding me back from full 100% completion.

Does anyone have any strategies/tunes/cars for these races AFTER the 1.71 physics update? And also, does the hard difficulty exploit still work? I did the other races on easy difficulty.

I know a lot of you will have completed this challenge years ago but I have only just started trying to get gold on all the missions and for the life of me I can’t complete this mileage trial on the Nurburgring with the Veyron, I’ve looked up all the guides and followed them but they are all from years ago and it just feels impossible to do now. Any tips would be much appreciated

Livery is shared for anyone interested.

The concept was simple: the car’s natural shape resembles a lobster swooping down, so I designed the livery to complement it. The contrasting colors make it pop in any lighting or time of day.

The rebranding to Nissan was partly because “Jaguar” didn’t look right on the lobster itself, and Japan is well known for seafood. Nissan also allowed me to pair it with Bridgestone and the classic R92CP style wheels for a more cohesive theme.

The name is a play on the Nissan R90CK and Jaguar XJR-9, creating the Nissan R90XJ ‘88.

The racing number is another play on words: 7, 8, 9 — “seven, ate, nine.”

The driver lineup features Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet, and Alain Prost - a fun cameo for a Group C stunt where they’d presumably mop the entire field in a machine that looks ridiculous, yet somehow serious.

Seriously Kaz, we went from bitchin soundtracks such as GT2’s with Garbage, STP, and friggin Rob Zombie to….. best way I can put it for GT7 is a lot of classical orchestral disco-like music. I get the “classiness” that comes with some level of elegant cars, but what a downgrade….

- I know the Chaser was the one that went touring car racing IRL but it wasn't sold in Europe - the MkIII was, they just called it the Cressida, and I thought it made more sense for a European touring car championship to use a car sold on the continent

- I will never get tired of this car

- Swinging past highly refined sportscars in a people carrier is just so fun

Ferrari 308

- Still haven't painted the damn thing

- Not sure why as it's easily the best car I have for WTC 600

- Very fun to fling about
