The information below is for the latest PC Public Test Server environment. This information below is not for the Live game.
Welcome back!
We’re excited to bring Pets back to the PTS! Which means the PTS is now Pspsps-TS once more! This go around, we have some new features that bring more depth to the experience of adventuring with your furry or rough-skinned friends.
Before getting into what’s new, let’s recap the feature for those who might have missed out on the original announcement.
Pets takes your C.A.M.P. Pets and turns them into… just pets! CAMPanions who will travel and fight alongside you on almost any adventure you go on. Accessible through your Pip-Boy, you can summon a Dog, Cat, Radhog, or a Deathclaw to be your partner. Through direct interactions or the Command wheel, you can order them to Attack, Stay, Follow, or Protect and they will deal damage to any enemy foolish to cross your path.
Today, we’re introducing two new systems to the experience. Pet Leveling and Pet Passives.
All players who own a copy of Fallout 76 on Steam can participate in our Pspsps-TS. To install, open your Steam library, and install “Fallout 76 Public Test Server”.
Thank you to everyone who has joined the PTS on consoles. We’re seeing a lot of great data from your experience so far and that data will help the team further improve the experience for launch and in the future.
We plan on bringing Pets to XBOX Series and PlayStation 5 PTS in a couple of weeks. Right now, we’re focused on continuing to gather data from your experiences and preparing for the native XBOX Series and PlayStation update to launch with The Slasher update on September 15.
As a general reminder, not all the content you see in the PTS is guaranteed to be released with the update that we’re testing.
The new Pet Leveling UI can be found by navigating to the Pets tab in your Pip-Boy and pressing the “Right Stick” on your controller, or “X” on keyboard, to open the Pet Leveling Progression menu.
Anytime that you earn XP with your pet summoned allows them to gain XP as well. They can reach a max level of 200, unlocking HP/DMG increases, increased player carry capacity, Pet Passive improvements (more on that below) as well as rewards such as Atoms, Caps, Player Titles, and more.
Don’t worry about having to level up each individual type of Dog you have though. Pets are leveled on a per species basis. Meaning that leveling your German Shepherd will bring all your dogs up to the same level. So, feel free to swap that German Shepherd out for the RoboPaw Steel Dog whenever the mood strikes.
Each pet has two passives. One that grants you a useful item, and one that improves rewards in a specific type of activity/event.
After unlocking them, these serve as small buffs that you receive while your Pet is active. The passives are themed to the pet you’re currently adventuring with (for example, Cats can find Improved Bait for you).
Earned by leveling up, these passive buffs have multiple stages that improve the buff as your pet hits higher levels. Below, you’ll find a list of pet species and their passives. Pets earn their passives at Level 5 and 20, and see improvements to these buffs at Level 40, 60, 85, and 120.
Passive Buffs are displayed in your Pip-Boy under the Effects tab.

Appalachian Adventurers are in for a Fall full of FRIGHT, as the legendary name of the Pint-Sized Slasher is taken up by a murderous lunatic and his cadre of Slasher fanatics.

“The Slasher” is a frightening experience that unravels over the weeks spanning our Fall updates. Players will need to hunt for clues, dig up unmarked graves, and fight off fanatics INFESTING the map. Finally, a confrontation with the “Pint-Sized” imposter himself, where players have a chance to earn a unique Power Armor set as well as a new instrument of murder, the “Super Slasher.”
These activities are layered over the top of one another- as an additional layer is unlocked, the intensity builds and builds!
“The Slasher” is a first of its kind update for Fallout 76.
Along with this content, our Gen 9 boost that benefits players on XBOX Series S/X, PS5, and older consoles will arrive. All console players will enjoy better performance, stability, and visual fidelity. This upgrade also affords our team the opportunity to optimize each platform individually down the road.
Unique weapon crafting also makes its way to workbenches, allowing players to fully unlock their potential with the ability to change Legendary mods on any of the 80+ uniquely named weapons found across the Wasteland.
Seasons are getting an upgrade as well! From “Beware of the Blood Moon” and onwards, players will now get to participate in both a current season and a storied season from the past that they may have missed with Legacy Seasons. Check out our Legacy Seasons article for a more in-depth look at what that new feature entails.
We hope you’re ready for everything these Pint-Sized Fanatics have in store for Appalachia.

Patch 70 is the Next Gen update, Patch 71 will probably might have Burning Springs Part 2 or not but it will have camp pets. Patch 72 and 73 we don't know nothing about but since Patch 74 is going to be Head Hunt Rework patch 73 is probably might be the official date for Burning Springs Questline. I would say since it's the Fallout day in October 23 so that means they'll shadowdrop Fallout 3 Remaster but i doubt that Raven Rock is going to be patch 76 since it doesn't even fit. We get patch 76 in 2028. So I believe Raven Rock is Part 1 of D.C. storyline.

I havent seen this mentioned, but per this article the ghillie suit, hat, and Nuclear winter letterman jacket will be a 5% drop chance during spooky scorched from scorched with slasher masks.
Was doing the excavator quest on a new character, and took the opportunity to break out the Skull Raider power armor skin, which is only equippable to the excavator armor.
It's absolutely one of my favorite looking power armor skins in the game, but being limited to the early game power armor set means I honestly haven't seen it in a long time or been able to equip it to the power armor set I've made for my build.
That and I also almost never see it on anyone else either since Excavator power armors are rarely worn these days.

Jumping worlds and someone had thoughtfully nuked Morgantown for me. After collecting enough raw flux the zone went away, but the irradiated flowers were still around for some time. I've been noticing occasional small amounts of raw flux in places where I didn't see any radiation zone, so I guess this is the explanation.

I just saw Angry Turtles video on the pet system and while I think most of it is pretty alright, especially the free atoms. What I don't like is how tedious leveling them seems. Like if they max out at 200 then why not just have them gain XP at a normal rate without having the dumb cool down? I get they probably don't want us to just blaze through the experience, but it just seems like it'd be a slog to get them all to max level.

leveled up during Spin the Wheel, felt worthy of a screen grab.

I was trying to figure out my audio settings tonight, ran into a few of y’all, and you showered us level 60 people in gifts. It’s been this way since we started playing 2 years ago and it’s so wholesome :). Just an appreciation post.

Edit: Wow. Thank you all. I didn’t expect so many thoughtful replies, and I really appreciate everyone taking the time. I love this game.
It means a lot to me personally, too. I picked it up while I was home sick for a week, and just as I was getting better, my beloved heart dog took a turn and I had to say goodbye. His last week was spent nursing me back to health while I explored the wasteland for the first time with a dear IRL friend (who still plays!). So this game holds some very special memories for me.
Thanks for all the great ideas. I’ve definitely got my marching orders for keeping things interesting.
And if anyone wants to play, I’m alexmakesthings on PS5. Always looking for wasteland pals. 🫶
Off to build a new camp.
——
After about three years, I’m coming up on level 300, and I don’t really know what to do anymore.
I’ve beaten every quest. I’ve got all my endgame stuff. I love this game so much, but I feel like all I do now is log in, do some events, and then log out a little while later.
For those of you who are in the same boat and have kept playing: what keeps you coming back? What are you actually enjoying in the game? What am I leaving on the table? What’s out there for me to explore next that I might not be thinking about?
I used to spend a lot of time CAMP building, but unfortunately I feel like that’s kind of been nuked since the UI/UX was completely redone. I try to do a Daily Op every time I log in, but it’s really hard to find a team, so I usually end up soloing. Sometimes I’ll run events by myself or just wander around checking out other people’s CAMPs.
So what does level 300+ look like for those of you who got there and just… kept going? What are you doing when you log in?

I noticed he was shooting with the wrong weapon and decided to take a few hits, but they weren't dealing any damage; now I'm worried I might be pregnant.
Marek507799, you need to get your ally a girlfriend. 😝

I have just found the flatliner plays and need to get the conductors mod. Any good places? Most places you can run for farms are ransacked in public lobbies so is there any ways the veterans know?
Thank you

Hello, I'm a beginner who asked about how to make a raid team last time, but today I want to ask about the second stage of this raid. I'm going to get one-pan, but isn't there a park that scares me with a tackle? By the way, Ghoul is an electrician in the joint PA. ( The weapon is a crossbow) SPECIAL is all MAX, but if you have a little trick, please let me know if it is a park that is effective for survival in Ste 2. Thank you

Has anyone else experienced the game crashing on Xbox Series X when your facing the Ultracite Terror and 9/10 in the boss fight the game crashes mid boss fight and you have to restart? Because this been happening to me each time I’ve been trying to play on public teams and Each time we get to about a 25% left of the health left the leader or the whole team game crashes. I guess you can call it it the Bosses Last resort move.

After trying to catch legendaries and having no luck, despite using mark 4 with advanced reel, I set out to find out where I went wrong. Here’s what I learned:
Here’s my setup:
• mark 4 reel (unlocked through fishing quests)
• advanced drag (unlocked through fishing daily “Big Fish in a Small Pond) Fisherman’s Rest is a free fast travel point
• Apply rod mods at tinker’s workbench
• Eat grilled fish (eating makes it take less time for fish to bite)
• quantum bobber. The alien bobber or red rocket bobber are good too if you haven’t unlocked this yet. Basically, anything that allows you to see the bobber go down in the water better
• start pulling in direction the bobber goes down before the reel even pops up
• adjust stick pressure to keep dot on fish; Don’t push the stick all the way over the whole time! Adjust the pressure to try and keep the dot on the fish.
• EDIT: After you hook the fish, you don’t need to keep pressing A (or whatever the reel button is on your platform of choice) while you reel it in
• improved bait or better always
• fish in the rain. (Nuke only for glowing)
Never be afraid to ask for help. I’m a veteran player and still learning things. This community is fantastic and I’m constantly humbled by the humanity of the wasteland.
If anyone has anything they’d like to add, feel free!

Guys I need some serious help and advise. This trophy is seeming near on impossible to obtain! I thought it was the case of just using magazines so wasted so many gifted from other players. Is there any recommendations on how to obtain this easily?!
