Four teenage kids in his mid 30's. He was likely a teenager himself when some or all of them were conceived.

Despite consequences, the fact that he and everybody else deserves a roof over their heads is indisputable. You can say he made his bed. You can say it's his fault. You can go down any road but if it takes you to a place where you think he should be unhoused, you made a wrong turn along the way and should turn back.

That’s the conclusion I’m at as well. It’s not punching down on the guy to point out that he created a situation that will require significant help from social programs. There are others acting like this is purely a societal issue.

There are no public policies that could allow for all of us to barely make any money and all have 4 kids, while still maintaining a quality of life we all believe should be the minimum (roof over our head, clean water, food, healthcare).

It’s a societal issue that this guy doesn’t have a roof over his head but it is an individually caused problem to a degree, but yes we all deserve basic human decency.

There is a nuanced convo to be had, but I am seeing a lot of social justice warriors act like this is purely societal.
