Morgan State put up as many points as Michigan legitimately did.
•
u/BobLabReeSorJefGre Kentucky Wildcats 2d ago
That is one of the greatest burns that I have ever seen.
•
•
u/301jo Morgan State Bears 2d ago
Good luck in the big 12 thanks for the 600k and WMU GOT ROBBED
•
•
•
u/Unable_Building_7451 2d ago
600k for that beatdown is actually a steal for the tape room content alone
•
u/rageb8err Ole Miss Rebels • BYU Cougars 2d ago
I haven’t laughed out loud from a comment in r/cfb like that in awhile.
•
u/BigBlueNate33 Kentucky Wildcats • Governor's Cup 2d ago
This just kinda confirms Mark Stoops had 0
Idea how to work with QBs
•
u/Anakin_Cringewalker Arizona State • Texas Tech 2d ago
Tbf a LOT of our offense was screens tn. Gotta see what he looks like next week
•
•
•
u/Dry_Opportunity2886 Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
Yeah if I need a QB whisperer I want Kenny Dillingham over Stoops any day.
•
u/bobsaget824 Arizona State Sun Devils 1d ago
Boley looked good, but Im going to wait to fully judge until next week. If he lights up TAMU even a little bit like this game yeah, we got a real one from Kentucky.
•
u/asuray81 1d ago
We'll have to see how Boley looks next week. Most of our offense was screens to get skill players in space with the ball against severely overmatched defenders. That won't work against A&M.
•
u/ASU_SexDevil Arizona State • Texas 2d ago
All I have to say is Sam Leavitt never threw 6 TDs in a game
•
u/whitepepsi Arizona State Sun Devils 1d ago
As much as I agree. I’m not commenting on how good we are until week four.
We were essentially playing a good high school team.
•
u/Cactus_Brody Arizona State Sun Devils • Iowa Hawkeyes 1d ago
That's a little harsh, even a mediocre to bad FCS team is destroying 99.99% of high school teams. I doubt even Mater Dei or IMG would stand a chance.
•
u/toomuchmarcaroni Arizona State Sun Devils • Team Chaos 2d ago
Comin for you TAMU
•
u/bitchmcconnell3559 Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
Hopefully they decide to never blitz Boley ever
•
u/OleRockTheGoodAg Texas A&M Aggies 2d ago
Not to be that guy, but A&M has been a top 3 pass rush in back to back seasons...
•
u/GottaHaveThatSkunk Arizona State Sun Devils 1d ago
Yeah that’s why we are hoping you never blitz him ever…
•
u/JelloJeremiah Texas A&M Aggies 2d ago
Can you come fashionably late? Our Offensive Line needs time to learn what the word ‘block’ means.
•
u/DillyDillySzn Arizona State Sun Devils • WashU Bears 2d ago
Omg same
•
u/JelloJeremiah Texas A&M Aggies 2d ago
How about neither of us put our O-Line’s on the field and we make both our QB’s experience what soldiers faced in Vietnam
•
u/Dry_Opportunity2886 Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
I'm in. Plenty of time to craft some punji sticks.

We’re gonna play playground rules… no line just a qb and receivers. You gotta count 4 Mississippi before you can rush.

u/Bansheesdie Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
Pass pro needs work
Kinda hard to judge the positives
Suck it UofA, 70-7
I'm upset Fette didn't play better
•
u/Late_Criticism8745 Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
Yeah Fette's a bit disappointing for a true freshman. But Keene looks leagues better than Sims as far as backup QBs go
•
•
u/Dry_Opportunity2886 Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
Fette is young and he wasn't out there with the ones. The play calling wasn't normal at that point either.
I wouldn't stress it too much.

Morgan State produced the same result as UofA did in 2021 and we were a far worse team in 2021 than we are now
•
u/Muffinnnnnnn Florida State • New Mexico 2d ago
Don't let this distract you from Western Michigan beating Michigan tonight
•
u/Typical_Platypus_414 Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
It was good to start the season with a win, just like our friends at Western Michigan.

GG Morgan State, props for playing out in a Tempe September
•
u/musicmlwl Arizona State • Territorial Cup 2d ago
If I had a nickel for everytime ASU beat an opponent 70-7 I'd have two nickels, but I'd appreciate one of those nickels a little more ;)

At the end of ESPN''s game story:
Up Next:
Arizona State: Opens conference play at No. 8 Texas A&M next Saturday.
clowns.
•
•
u/Odd-Hour5230 1d ago
To be fair Elko said he considered this a conference game which was rather flattering
•
u/EmuMan10 Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
Well I had fun. Sorry Morgan state. Hilarious we kept the scoring record at 70-7
•
u/DillyDillySzn Arizona State Sun Devils • WashU Bears 2d ago
Heh 70-7
Fuck UofA
Sam Leavitt is a bitch
Western Michigan won
I love you Kenny
Onto A&M

•
u/franco300 Arizona State • NC State 2d ago
Imagine losing 7-70, that'd be really embarrassing. The only way it would be more embarrassing is if it was in a rivalry game.

ASU is the best team in the Big 12. I’ll die on that hill.
•
•
u/Late_Criticism8745 Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
Perfect tune-up game. Got a good sense for our weaknesses and there's time to make adjustments. Next week will show us how strong our strengths are. Overall though I think we look a lot stronger than we did against NAU last year
•
•
u/theopression Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
That score looks familiar..
Jokes aside this is the first season opener in a while where we looked dominant from start to finish. Receivers and running backs look lethal. Need to keep this energy next week against A&M though and the OT’s to improve
•
•
u/doublething1 Arizona State Sun Devils 1d ago
It’s so hard not to get over excited about today but I’ve seen enough of the week 1 games vs Cal Poly and Sac St. This was so different. We looked nasty af

•
u/GottaHaveThatSkunk Arizona State Sun Devils 1d ago
One of the best week 1 cupcake beatdowns I can remember from ASU
•
u/Aidanj927 Texas Tech Red Raiders • UTSA Roadrunners 2d ago
There’s been more extreme blowouts this year right
•
u/Archer-Saurus Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
I can count on one hand the number of ASU wins like this I've seen in my life. At least by ASU standards this was an extra-cupcakey week 1.
•
u/bobsaget824 Arizona State Sun Devils 1d ago
https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/401249429/arizona-st-arizona
This the only one I remember personally. But it too was against an extra-cupcakey team.
•
u/SkepsisJD Arizona State • Purdue 2d ago
I mean, that is kinda week 1. FBS teams just absolutely bullying FCS or worse teams. However, agreeing to take 5 minutes of the clock because of the score is a new one for me lol
•
u/GottaHaveThatSkunk Arizona State Sun Devils 1d ago
Well it’s also week 11 in the SEC. They like another cupcake snack later.

Cameron Edge is an TV star QB name. Too bad that doesn't translate to real life.

That onside kick is the most unhinged thing I've ever seen a coach attempt. God, I love Dillingham.
•
u/Late_Criticism8745 Arizona State Sun Devils 1d ago
Dilly said the opening drive was too short, run it back
•
u/ItsWazeyWaynes Indiana • Notre Dame 2d ago
Only a slightly greater loss than the one Michigan suffered tonight.
•
•
u/Dry_Opportunity2886 Arizona State Sun Devils 2d ago
At the end of it all, Morgan State still has more wins than Michigan.
•
•
u/buddaaaa Arizona State Sun Devils • Team Chaos 2d ago
Boley looks very shaky. Maybe first game jitters, but if OL is straight bad against A&M, that game next week is going to be very, very ugly.
I do like a lot of the rest of the team, but upfront and then QB behind them is going to severely limit this team’s ceiling this year, unfortunately
•
u/Original_Benzito Alabama • Arizona State 2d ago
21 of 27 and six touchdowns is shaky? What else could he have done, even against lower tier competition like MSU?
•
u/SkepsisJD Arizona State • Purdue 2d ago
27 out of 27 with 8TDs, duh.
•
u/Original_Benzito Alabama • Arizona State 2d ago
He’s a loser. I would have thrown 30 out of 27 with 8 TDs and a four-point kick, Aussie style. You’re right.
•
u/PhirebirdSunSon 1d ago
Nah I agree with him. Stats look great but if you watched the game he was...not amazing. His wind up is incredibly slow and his pocket presence needs a lot of work. Most of his yards came on screen passes within 5 yards that had YAC galore.
•
u/buddaaaa Arizona State Sun Devils • Team Chaos 1d ago
If you just want to look at the box score, it’s not
But literally hundreds of his yards were on screens or passes to the flat. He was hapless trying to push the ball down the field against a team we mercy ruled.
Once ASU plays a team whose skill position players they don’t outclass by several orders of magnitude, Boley’s stats could quite literally evaporate.
He seemed to struggle with his reads on longer-developing pass plays, did not navigate the pocket well versus pressure, and had spotty accuracy when under duress. All signs that point to potential disaster as ASU starts playing competent FBS teams.
•
u/jsg_nado Arizona State • Sacramento Sta… 1d ago
I mean they are going to throw a lot of screens next week too. They're playing like they did because that's how they're going to play against A&M next week. They know he's not going to have time in the pocket. He did make some very accurate passes downfield though including the long TD to Harris.

Maybe you just aren’t funny? Probably the simplest explanation.

I was today years old when I found out coaches can agree to a shorter fourth quarter.
