OKST called. They'd like their QB back.

oh man, they cooked wyoming in second half. 14-0 in fourth quarter is just mean
the mora statue talk is getting out of hand but i'm not complaining, line it up right next to the big ram

Fire Jay Sawvel. I said it all last year. I'll say it all this year.
•
u/TailgateLegend Boise State Broncos • Jamestown Jimmies 2d ago
I’m still amazed he made it past the first year.

•
u/rageb8err Ole Miss Rebels • BYU Cougars 2d ago
I wasn’t too hopeful but I was like ehh this is the easiest schedule in years. But nah it looks a 3-win team if that. He needs to go quick.

u/notaquarterback Wyoming Cowboys • Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
Truly, MWC is not the place to get your head coaching experience.
•
u/Keyblade_Yoshi Michigan State • Ohio State 2d ago
One game and Jim Mora Jr is already showing he was worth the money.
•
u/MarsBars_1 Colorado State • Michigan State 2d ago
As someone from the northeast, if you can somehow turn UCONN into a football school you deserve all the money
•
u/dblock1111 UConn • North Carolina 2d ago
I’ll always appreciate Mora, wish he would’ve stayed, but seeing as we handled business against our FCS opponent today in a convincing way (something that was not a guarantee pre Mora lol) im hoping we’ll both come out in a good spot from this coaching change!
•
u/HylianHero Colorado State Rams • Pac-12 1d ago
Well, after one week we appreciate it! I hope that he elevated UConn to a point that you can keep up the success!
Hoping it works out for both of us too. Great start for Mora here!
•
u/HuskHeel Missouri Tigers 1d ago
Mora did his job in showing that UConn can win and made it an attractive job for up and coming coaches. They’ve always had good G5 resources but didn’t have anything to show for it.
•
u/Mackinnon29E Colorado State • Iowa State 2d ago
Well they're definitely still a basketball school, but he made football respectable there!
•
u/ginelectonica Colorado State Rams 2d ago
Haven’t seen a CSU football team with this much resolve in years. This is so exciting

We stopped them on 3rd every time
We took the ball from them four times
We got the first win in the new Pac-12
We got the fucking Boot back
I said I’m proud to be a CSU Ram!

Outright embarrassing for UW. CSU outplayed us on all levels. Might be a long season, but guess that makes the 6-6 ones that more enjoyable. Go Pokes.

GG lil bro
Gonna go take a Wyoming tonight before bed in your honor

That was the most competent a CSU team has looked in a long long time.

u/shemanese West Virginia • Colorado State 2d ago
Definitely business like.
Spread and speed. That RB was patient waiting for blocks, then turned on the burners. That QB ain't afraid to throw the ball.
Defense has issues, but are fixable. Slow getting coverage called. They were still settling in when the ball was snapped. They left the middle linebackers isolated in the center of the field. Wyoming was able to find seams in the zone coverage.
Might be my imagination, but the skill players just looked bigger and faster than last year.

LET'S GOOOOO CSU RAMS!!!!!!!! THE BOOT IS BACK WHERE IT BELONGS!!!!!

u/biscuits-for-my-cat Colorado Buffaloes • Sickos 2d ago
That was a completely disciplined, well-coached team. CSU looked scarily efficient at times - Mora seems to be the real deal, and Hejny appears to be in the right place at the right time.
I may have to watch CSU games as a sort of antacid after watching CU games. ;)
•
u/Wernher_VonKerman Colorado Buffaloes • Team Chaos 2d ago
Antacid? It just adds to the heartburn for me.
That being said the next rms is far enough away that I’m not ready to get worked up about it yet. If we have a shit team & coach the year before, while theirs are good, then I will start to worry.
•
u/biscuits-for-my-cat Colorado Buffaloes • Sickos 2d ago
If nothing else, CSU is an advertisement for what a coach swap and the portal roundabout can do to a team in one year.
•
u/Chitown_mountain_boy Colorado State Rams 1d ago
This isn’t wrong. We have 76 new players this year.
•
•
•
u/Freeman307 Wyoming Cowboys 2d ago
Embarrassing. UW needs to clean house, Burman included. Can’t get any worse. Only thing that would make this better is waking up to Sawvel being out of a job.

u/ShitJuggler Wyoming Cowboys • Nebraska Cornhuskers 2d ago
Maybe this is the win you can solace in while getting your ass beat by an FCS team?
•
u/CheddarGuevara Utah State Aggies • UNLV Rebels 2d ago
Buddy, this is the win that the whole conference is riding on right now 😭
We paid millions to leave the MW and this is what we show for it
•
•
•
u/PomfAndCircvmstance UNLV Rebels • Mountain West 2d ago
Wyoming is gonna be fighting with UTEP and NIU at the bottom of the MW all season. Fire all the coaches into a volcano.

From the little bit I watched, CSU definitely looks improved
•
u/boringtallguy Colorado State Rams 2d ago
I mean... that is not saying much
•
•
u/Chitown_mountain_boy Colorado State Rams 1d ago
I mean, that one game looked better than any I have watched in the last decade, so I’d say we’re are on the right trajectory.

Too early to call Boise vs CSU for the title game?

QB play was an A, Defense was a B+, run game a B, and team heart an S+. Can't ask for more in Mora's first game

u/SilverBuff_ Colorado Buffaloes • Big 12 2d ago
A PAC 12 team beating a MWC rival to the north? Seems so familiar

Was that Colorado's biggest contribution to the Pac-12?

Well there was also the time we showed up to the title game after a cinderella season & got destroyed

Not even the most obnoxious CU team in recent memory

Sometimes it's about the friends you make along the way...except everybody in the PAC-12 hated us.
Enjoy your 'new' conference, I guess!
