Shoutout Michigan and Rutgers
Edit: Ope. Spoke too soon, refs had a little more fight in em.

Did I miss something... Where's Zion Elee?
•
u/Luv2Travel_2 Maryland Terrapins • Texas Longhorns 2d ago
I’ve only noticed him on a few passing downs, but was hoping the #1 recruit would be having a bigger impact. They do seem to account for him with a back or TE on the few plays I’ve seen him in.

Iveeson Howard is the Rocket is the new Perry Hillis was a wrestler
•
u/HandSack135 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Is the announcer the Caps guy?
•
u/Luv2Travel_2 Maryland Terrapins • Texas Longhorns 2d ago
Yep
•
u/HandSack135 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Was 95% confident.
But only ever heard him talking about the great 8

Has locksley been on ozempic or something
•
u/tspanguluri Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Yes actually
•
u/Serious_Up Maryland • James Madison 2d ago
Maybe if he takes enough of it he'll completely disappear and we can get a real head coach
•
•
u/ReyDragons Team Chaos • Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
you need sequences like that for your young qb
malik got immense potential but has some jitteriness being young
he can make the throws, just needs confidence they'll actually catch the damn thing to get him rolling
•
•
•
•
•
u/thepolarbears12 Maryland • Louisville 2d ago
Washington hasn't been throwing amazing but these receivers need it to be like right in the hands to even have a 50/50 shot at catching anything
•
•
u/410LaxMD Towson Tigers 2d ago
Only throw it to our TEs. Sit everyone and let the Polish guy get some more touches at this point.
•
u/ExpensiveShallot7990 2d ago
I’ve been on repeat tonight “catch the fn ball”
•
u/Wild_Pokemon_Appears Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
I've been saying that since last year. We have toilet paper hands.
•
u/Wild_Pokemon_Appears Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
What is this announcer talking about? 50 seconds on the clock, and he saying "you can take a shot here, and if you dont get it, go for the field goal."
We have three timeouts.
•
u/Wicked_UMD Maryland Terrapins • Illibuck 2d ago
Millen is an idiot. I said the same thing, but also I don’t really trust Locksley with time management in these situations.
We were so close to kicking a FG at the buzzer with two TOs if that says anything lol
•
u/410LaxMD Towson Tigers 2d ago
This half summed up.
"Right in his hands and he dropped it... Great throw, though."
•
•
•
u/ReyDragons Team Chaos • Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
do we have the worst receiving corps of all time
•
u/ReyDragons Team Chaos • Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
damn center
but great by malik to just recognize get the fuck down
•
u/410LaxMD Towson Tigers 2d ago
We have too much talent in this state and in the surrounding areas to not have a single receiver worth a fuck.
•
u/Wild_Pokemon_Appears Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Easily the worst passing offense I've ever seen from the Terps. Really bad looking.
•
u/Wicked_UMD Maryland Terrapins • Illibuck 2d ago
Absolutely nothing we’ve done in this game so far will translate to UConn, let alone Virginia Tech. You can run 20ypc on this team and I won’t care if you can’t throw a forward pass or kickoff like a fucking adult.
•
u/Decent-Yak-4696 UConn Huskies • Tennessee Volunteers 2d ago
I’m encouraged by how bad your receivers look. Our db’s are our weakness.
Your DL kicks ass, though. Washington will probably scramble more vs us and VT.
•
u/Winter_Win_5531 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
We play like this Rutgers beats us by 20+ this offense is horrific
•
•
u/Serious_Up Maryland • James Madison 2d ago
I ain't no football guru, but isn't the job of a receiver to receive the ball when it's thrown to him?
•
•
u/ReyDragons Team Chaos • Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
he lost it in the lights but throw coulda been better too
•
u/410LaxMD Towson Tigers 2d ago
Outside shoulder in stride isn't good enough? It's a tad underthrown at best. Even the perfect pass isn't getting caught cause the receiver wasn't even trying to track it. Dude never realized the ball was coming his way.
•
u/trogtothedor Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Can we get any kind of down field camera angles to see if these receivers are open?
•
u/410LaxMD Towson Tigers 2d ago edited 2d ago
Malik scrambling just hoping someone can get open in 7 seconds against a Hampton DB. Sad.
•
u/Wicked_UMD Maryland Terrapins • Illibuck 2d ago
The ref threw his hat and then just pretended it didn’t happen lol
•
•
u/sarcasmrules18 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Idk about uconn but just switching to VT they do have some bigger/athletic matches on the D front, so its nice to see now the run game going but the question remains against matched opponents how it will do, mainly bc the passing game looks mega bleh rn
•
u/Winter_Win_5531 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
James Franklin has a stiffy thinking about what he’s gonna do to this Maryland offense.
•
•
•
u/12nCorofE 2d ago
Man! No receivers again this year it looks like
•
u/Luv2Travel_2 Maryland Terrapins • Texas Longhorns 2d ago
Webb could be it, but we may just get a heavy dose of Howard/Fleming and Williams out of the back.
•
u/Winter_Win_5531 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
I fear the receivers are even worse than anticipated. This is the most concerning 20-0 lead I’ve watched. Absolutely nothing has been proven except that we’re significantly more athletic than Hampton.
•
u/0mniknight Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
What I wouldn’t give to get Felton another year of eligibility
•
•
u/Luv2Travel_2 Maryland Terrapins • Texas Longhorns 2d ago
Felton was two years ago, but yeah miss that dynamic guy who can catch a screen and make someone miss.
•
•
u/Wicked_UMD Maryland Terrapins • Illibuck 2d ago
We shouldn’t be playing to prove we can establish the run on an overmatched opponent and toss a few bubble screens. Work on an actual passing game.
•
u/shelled15 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
This is the yearly 63 - 7 win that gives everyone who didn't actually watch the game hope for the season.
•
•
•
u/0mniknight Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Unreal how Locksley saw how amazing having an automatic catch in Tai Felton was and decided to find the worst possible WRs in the portal and in high school to give to our massively hyped QB
•
•
•
•
u/0mniknight Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Malik seems to have some jitters and we don’t have anyone capable of making a somewhat difficult catch on the roster, make one of our CBs like Travis Hunter atp
•
u/Winter_Win_5531 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Undisciplined. Offense might be even worse than last year.
Some things never change.
•
u/Luv2Travel_2 Maryland Terrapins • Texas Longhorns 2d ago
Kind of sad we have to drop the flag in 1H bc students don’t stick around for the second.
•
•
•
u/0mniknight Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Well we traded being able to pass to having a strong run game, defense is still good, elite punter and great kicker, I guess we’re Iowa now
•
•
•
u/yoloape Oregon Ducks • Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
This team will forever be brutally undisciplined. It’s something that Locksley has never been able to figure out
•
u/Wild_Pokemon_Appears Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
If I hear "Terps killing Terps" in one more post-game, I'll lose my shit. Its inexcusable that its still an issue this far into Locksley's tenure.
•
•
u/NoAmbassador8359 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Not really liking Washington being a little inaccurate and him being twitch with footwork
•
•
u/sarcasmrules18 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Is it a combo of pass pro fear and washingtons foot work?
•
u/Winter_Win_5531 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
If we’re scared to scheme actual passes against Hampton, I’m very concerned about pass protection against FBS teams
•
•
u/tspanguluri Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Run game is looking good, but there seems to be no improvement in the passing game at all. Just the same screen passes and 2 yard slants as last year
•
u/NoAmbassador8359 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
I might be delusional but it could be we’re not showing our whole playbook on a FCS opponent. But gonna need to see how the rest of this game plays out and next week before I concern myself with it
•
•
•
u/NoAmbassador8359 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
I’m gonna cry, we can run the ball. I know it’s Hampton but we couldn’t even run the ball on Towson or Florida Atlantic
•
u/Wicked_UMD Maryland Terrapins • Illibuck 2d ago
They’re vastly different caliber of opponents though. Those are bottom tier FBS which would be near the top of the FCS. Hampton is one of the worst FCS programs.
•
•
u/Winter_Win_5531 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
My hot take this year is that we will have a top 15 defense in the country. Won’t matter bc the offense will be buns.
•
u/NoAmbassador8359 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
HOLY SHIT DD
•
u/Luv2Travel_2 Maryland Terrapins • Texas Longhorns 2d ago
We’re going to miss Mathis, but nice to see DD step up.
•
u/NoAmbassador8359 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
I’m still sad Mathis went down. But if our backups can play 80% as good as Mathis, I think we’ll be fine
•
•
u/AsteroidMike Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Just my luck that I tune in right after the big ass run for a score lol
•
•
u/Winter_Win_5531 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
Shoutout local fans. Really nice turnout for this type of game
•
•
•
•
•
u/Luv2Travel_2 Maryland Terrapins • Texas Longhorns 2d ago
I’ll just be happy with a W and no personal fouls, we always seem to lack discipline.
•
u/Luv2Travel_2 Maryland Terrapins • Texas Longhorns 2d ago
Let’s go 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀, just glad football is back
•
u/thepolarbears12 Maryland • Louisville 2d ago
This cant be right, someone tell the boys it's still September
•
•
u/Wicked_UMD Maryland Terrapins • Illibuck 2d ago
Chef’s kiss that Millen had no clue why the kick returner stepped out of bounds then touched the ball. Guy does not know ball.
•
u/Wicked_UMD Maryland Terrapins • Illibuck 2d ago
What the hell was all of that? Jittery-ness from Washington, doomed playcalling on both 2nd and 3rd. Woof.
•
•
•
•
u/shelled15 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
I am so excited to witness the first of our 4 wins this year!
•
•
u/AsteroidMike Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
I too am excited for September football only to get my heart broken for the remaining 8 games
•
u/TraditionalBottle884 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
I'm not sure I see 4 on the schedule, probably only 3 this year.
•
u/tensecovering52 2d ago
Guess we’ll find out if Hampton came just for the check or actually wants to play
•
u/sarcasmrules18 Maryland Terrapins 2d ago
I've minimally availed my self of this damn team since last nov. Don't expect much by the time we get to VT. Hopefully Washington still makes a b1g step and we get a ground game going. Don;t know on the discipline this yr
