We won by 45 in a game we were favored by 16.5 and all you’ll see on twitter is people complaining lol. We are so back. I think this team will be pretty good. We will have some flaws for sure but I’m hoping for a solid season. It gets real next week.

how the hell was 16.5 the line. jesus

u/Alternative_Read8760 1d ago

The line comes out and is adjusted according to current betting trends, people were betting Pittsburgh would win by 16.5, apparently.

Because they know narduzzi gonna narduzzi eventually.

u/noah-rop8771 Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago

That 2nd quarter was disgusting and I would’ve loved to see the run game do more but I mean, can’t really complain with that passing display

u/FracturedKnuckles Ohio State • Pittsburgh 2d ago

Heintschel had 7TDs and 453 yards in one of the most blatant stat padding displays I’ve ever seen

u/iikillerpenguin Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago

I don't know if I would 100% consider it stat padding... he broke a record for most TDs by different people..

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago

Miami is a decent to good MAC team. This was a good performance. Doesn’t mean we’re a top 20 team all of a sudden but it wasn’t like we were playing Wofford when Kenny and Addison dropped 70

u/SST114 Miami Hurricanes 2d ago

Pitt was underratedly solid last yr, I hope you guys are ranked by the time we meet :D

u/WedgeEntilles Pittsburgh • Bethany (WV) 2d ago

Let’s say…you’re number two?
I’ll take it.

u/iikillerpenguin Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago

Yea. I'm not saying Pitt is good. I am saying breaking/tying records is not stat padding. This performance is insane. 41 throws is a lot though lmao.

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago

Yes you are. You are saying Pitt is very good. You just said Pitt will win the ACC and get a top 4 seed in the playoff. That’s what I heard.

u/iikillerpenguin Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago

Woah woah woah. I will only agree to saying Pitt will win the ACC if you agree the Steelers are winning playoff games this year too!!

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago

Okay let’s be realistic…

u/AnotherUnfunnyName Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 2d ago

Miami is actually the one MAC team spending some money in relation to the rest on the MAC. They should be pretty decent this season.

u/allianceofficer 2d ago

Where was the stat padding he didn't play the 4th quarter at all lol.

u/FracturedKnuckles Ohio State • Pittsburgh 2d ago

He played until halfway through the 4th quarter dude

u/realclean Pittsburgh Panthers • Pepperdine Waves 2d ago

Like a million other ACC teams, we have the talent to beat any of them except Miami straight up. But we're not that much better than a lot of them, if at all. Gonna be a season defined in the margins for a lot of teams.

u/FracturedKnuckles Ohio State • Pittsburgh 2d ago

Just enjoy the win Mr Grinch

u/realclean Pittsburgh Panthers • Pepperdine Waves 2d ago

Leave it to Pitt fans to think that "we have the talent to beat everyone but the national runner-up straight up" is somehow a negative statement

u/theexile14 Pittsburgh • Michigan 2d ago

I mean, Miami lost to SMU and Louisville last year before making that run. They absolutely have a history of losing to teams with less talent, so immediately ruling it out is dumb.

u/SST114 Miami Hurricanes 2d ago

That was Beck having a spectacular collapse tho vs Louisville.

Your point stands but needs that asterisk lol

u/realclean Pittsburgh Panthers • Pepperdine Waves 2d ago

Not as dumb as not being able to read. I added "straight up" for a reason. We can beat Miami if they fuck up in some way, but we can beat everyone else at their best if we play our best

u/theexile14 Pittsburgh • Michigan 1d ago

Lmao, grow up buddy.

u/realclean Pittsburgh Panthers • Pepperdine Waves 1d ago

My b forgot you probably couldn't read that last comment either. I'd give you the text-to-speak version if the chat supported it. Wishing you the best on your literacy (that means reading) journey

u/mswise506 Clarion • Pittsburgh 2d ago

I think it's the 'we're not much better than a lot of them.' comment.

You don't know that, I don't know that, they probably don't even know that at this point.

u/realclean Pittsburgh Panthers • Pepperdine Waves 2d ago

Yeah I'm pretty sure they all know it's a pretty even conference. Like it has been for the entirety of our existence in the ACC

u/AvePicante UCF Knights • Auburn Tigers 2d ago

UCF @ Pitt next week should be wild, can't wait

u/jurzydude Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago

I know it's only one game vs Miami, but man Heinschel looks legit. about as good a performance as you could've hoped for. I'm excited

u/SecondHandFood Pittsburgh Panthers • Penn Quakers 2d ago

Pitt honored Ben Roethelisberger today by treating his Alma mater like he would a co-ed

u/WesternFail2071 2d ago

I've been trying to think of the best way to make this connection and you win, well done

u/Glycoside Pittsburgh • Michigan 2d ago

Broke the record for most TD throws in a game in the ACC. I don’t care who we played, my hype is real

u/Namath96 Alabama Crimson Tide • NC State Wolfpack 1d ago

Miami should be a pretty good team. Think most people thought it was gonna be a relatively close game.

Heinschel is the real deal

u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan 2d ago

Hopefully they can tighten up the pass defense, and typically they do. The explosive pass plays gotta end. Worried about the run game but when the pass game is rolling like that it doesn’t matter much at this juncture.

u/DarthNobody14 Texas A&M Aggies 2d ago

1 Miami beaten, another one to go…

u/Vepr762X54R California • Georgia 2d ago

Pitt looking as scary as trying to merge on the Ft Pitt Bridge. 😂😂😂

u/pittpanthers95 Pittsburgh • Slippery Rock 2d ago

A little sketchy in the 2nd quarter but I’m happy with the start

u/Finn_Ajerkit Miami (OH) RedHawks • The CW 2d ago

2nd quarter was good. Hope we can keep up an offense throughout conference play. And maybe a defense

u/AdagioJealous5413 Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago

Mason was special today

u/SteelPenguin947 Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago

Really couldn't ask for a better start to the season. Heintschel looked amazing. Here's hoping for good things the rest of the season!

u/DharmaInitiative4815 2d ago

Undefeated season and heisman. Book it.

money mason is the real deal

u/Bmlrocks Pittsburgh Panthers • WKU Hilltoppers 2d ago

Great win! The offense looked electric, but I still have some pass defense concerns

u/mswise506 Clarion • Pittsburgh 2d ago

Those are a given in this defense.

I'm concerned about our inability to consistently run the ball

u/pillgrinder Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago

What was frustrating about it was we were getting home to the qb with four rushers, but when we blitzed, that was when Miami got their big plays.

u/RiskMatrix Pittsburgh Panthers 2d ago

Great way to start. Need to clean some things up but nothing to get too anxious about.

u/Jonjon428 Miami Hurricanes 2d ago

Well we know the Pitt offense has been mostly good for the past three years so we shouldn't be surprised

u/TriflingHusband Virginia Tech • Commonwealth C… 2d ago

I am now very nervous about the VT/Pitt Friday night game.

u/fhqwhgads_football Carnegie Mellon • Pittsburgh 2d ago

Well, just call me Ben Stiller in the weird opening skit of the music video for All Star by Smash Mouth, because I'd say there's potential

u/TNHBrah Pittsburgh Panthers • Big East 2d ago

This comment is disrespecting the movie Mystery Men and I will not have it!
