Cheez It will never make another commercial but this one that we've been watching for seemingly 48 years will they?
•
•
u/TrickZealousideal899 2d ago
Oregons probably not a bad as they played there and Boise State is definitely better than people thought. Both things can be true at the same time.
•
u/Big_Celebration_9935 2d ago
Oregon has never played well against Boise State. Why schedule them? The juice just isn't worth the squeeze. Close win is viewed as a loss. You don't get credit for any kind of win.
Props to BSU. This was just a typical game against them. In other words...not great.

It was a good game as it usually is with Boise State. Hope they'll make the playoffs.

You guys are weak, and you'll see when you play your conference.
•
u/anonuser2700 2d ago
It’s week 1. And we played an actual playoff contender. Lots of self inflicted errors that will be cleaned up as the season progresses. Best teams peak at the right time. We’ll be fine.
•
u/Ok-Moose-1543 Miami Hurricanes 2d ago
Oregon if they beat down: See we are them!!!
Oregon after sneaking a win against a playoff maybe: Umm actually they are a good opponent.

Gg Oregon. It hurts. I should be proud. I just want us to get that signature BSU win again
•
u/Electrical_Pop_2828 Oregon Ducks 2d ago
That was a hell of a game. I think you guys go 11-1
•
u/guddagudda420 Boise State Broncos • Idaho Vandals 2d ago
I feel like we drop a conference game to San Diego state or Fresno possibly but I feel a lot better about our odds now. I've liked Dante Moore a lot and when Oregon woke up I was like ohhhhhh fuck lol. Amazed we competed in the second half cause Oregon offense was going nuts with those big olays. That's been our weakness for a bit now
•
•
u/Electrical_Pop_2828 Oregon Ducks 2d ago
Dan... Go beat your teams ass. This was a loss.
BSU gg! Looking like an 11-1 season.

Big ups to Oregon. Capitalizing on all those favorable calls was clutch.
•
u/Upstairs_Being290 2d ago
Oregon had 10 penalties for 90 yards to Boise State 3 for 25, and got absolutely screwed on that fair catch that gave BSU a TD. Trying to claim the game was rigged towards them is just goofy.
•
u/Atlas_Was_ATitan Boise State Broncos 2d ago
I thought both side got completely shafted at least once. Those refs did a poor job and messed with both teams at key times.
•
u/asanctarian Tennessee Volunteers • Oregon Ducks 2d ago edited 2d ago
This is a wild take
Edit: esp in a game where BSU was literally gifted a possession in Oregon territory that led to a TD
•
u/64stackdiamonds Montana State Bobcats • Oregon Ducks 2d ago
Boise literally got gifted a possession that led to a TD. Refs were bad both ways today

•
u/Shinranfargo 2d ago
That was a very good game. Analysts thinking Oregon was dominant the whole time is so fucking stupid.
•
u/Upstairs_Being290 2d ago
Oregon outgained them by 230 yards on fewer plays and didn't (legitimately) turn the ball over. Take away the awful missed call on that fair catch and the four-possession swing on fourth downs and it's a blowout.
•
u/TrickZealousideal899 2d ago
What fucking game were you watching!?…that was a tight game and BSU had a chance to tie or win with a two point conversion in the last few minutes. The game is the game regardless of who plays more consistently.
•
u/Upstairs_Being290 2d ago
"Chance to tie or win" if they had gained an extra 70 yards that they couldn't get on either of the last two drives?
Oregon could have won by 10 if they felt like kicking the field goal at the end, 17 if it wasn't for that horrible blown call on the fair catch, and that's WITH the four-possession swing on fourth downs. It wasn't a tight game because it was evenly matched. Oregon was the far better team in every facet of the game except a couple of 4th down coinflips.
My other team just had a game where it looked like they didn't even belong on the field with their opponent. Our QB looked like he didn't belong on any field at all, I don't think he completed a pass downfield until the 4th quarter, while our defensive backfield was getting beat for one big play after another. We were down by 3 touchdowns with a couple minutes still left in the 1st quarter. But we had a pick for a score, a fumble return for a score, a blocked punt for a score, and with a couple huge TDs by our running back mixed end we ended up only losing the game due to a clock management fuckup in the final seconds.
I don't even feel bad about the loss because there was no way we should have been in the game in the first place. We were not as good as them.
•
•
u/Dr_Quest1 Boise State • Oregon State 2d ago
They difinitely didn't dominate the first half...
•

Even early in the 4th when Oregon was up 27-24, it did not feel like we were losing. Awhile they showed a few Nike owners in the surrender cobra pose.

•
u/Traditional-Till9998 Virginia Tech • Appalachian … 2d ago edited 2d ago
I just watched the replay again on that DPI & yes it is subtle but that is definitely a DPI. The WR stops and the DB pulls him in order to undercut the route. I don't expect a ref to catch that but ducks in the thread seem to have nike glasses on
•
u/Unstupid Oregon Ducks 2d ago
You mean like the ones they were wearing during the kick catch interference? 👍🏼
•
u/Atlas_Was_ATitan Boise State Broncos 2d ago

Oregon beat Boise State by 3 2 years ago.
They proceeded to go undefeated the rest of the regular season.

•
u/fritzperls_of_wisdom Ole Miss • Southern Miss 2d ago edited 2d ago
You guys may not be a top 4-5 team.
But it won’t be because you only beat Boise by 7 in week one.
In terms of power rankings, I presume this will be a much more decisive win.
•
u/DuckDown00 Oregon Ducks 2d ago
Don't have to be top 4 or 5.
Be top 12 and youre in.
•
u/fritzperls_of_wisdom Ole Miss • Southern Miss 2d ago
Yeah….I said that because people are going into the usual “overrated” shit after one game.
I generally think the top 4-5 are on a pretty similar tier…so that’s why I used that number.
•
u/DuckDown00 Oregon Ducks 2d ago
Ah. I mistook it as an insult rather than a opinion. My bad.
•
u/fritzperls_of_wisdom Ole Miss • Southern Miss 2d ago

u/DubiousAdviceGiver Boise State Broncos 2d ago
Once again, we lost to the ugly ducklings by a single score and it was almost entirely due to the decision to pass rather than eat up clock on the ground when time was short.
That being said, I’m pretty happy with what I saw out of my team and I’m not sure many Nike fans can honestly say the same thing.

Yeah, Jeanty was a monster for sure. But he was such a monster that he made you guys good. Despite, uh, the defense.
•

u/TheAlterN8or Ohio State • Boise State 2d ago
? Boise is usually good, and always gives Oregon fits. Let's wait a few weeks to see what teams really are before we start saying it's a bad showing. If Boise ends up starting 2-3, then sure. Start throwing shade. But the fact of the matter is that nobody really knows how good or bad anyone is at this point. I'm certainly not going to assume the Buckeyes are world beaters based on one blowout win.

•

Disagree. After watching this game, Oregon is NOT one of the best teams in the country. Hopefully they clean some stuff up cause this showing was lackluster.
•
u/Upstairs_Being290 2d ago
Indiana started last season with a 27-14 win over Old Dominion and went undefeated to win the title.
Ole Miss barely beat Kentucky 30-23, then followed that up with a 41-35 nailbiter against Arkansas, and still ended up in the title game.
Alabama lost to unranked Florida State 31-17 and proceeded on to the playoff quarterfinals.
Georgia only managed to beat Austin Peay 28-6 (a game that was 14-6 in the 3rd quarter) and still made the quarterfinals as well.
Judging a team based off of a Game 1 win against a solid opponent where they outgained them by 220 yards is goofy and misguided.
•
u/BigAcanthocephala637 11h ago
Oregon was ranked 2, not a ranking I gave them, based on judgement of performance prior to the season. My judgement of them that they are an ass cheeks team at least has more data than the experts used to rank them. This team is ass until they show me something else.

Don't get the end of the first half play calling by Boise State. You pass twice backed up at your own ten? At least run the ball 3 times and force Oregon to use up it's timeouts. Even if you don't get a first down you give the ball back to Oregon with very little time left and no timeouts. Instead you run 3 plays, take no time off the clock. Oregon scores on a pass play with the defense reverting back to it's poor tackling of last season the Oregon receiver busts through a couple of arm tackles and it's an easy touchdown. Now instead of a 17-7 lead going into the locker room you have a 17-14 game and a momentum shift to Oregon.
