Being a Stanford fan fucking sucks man. Getting Heisman poses spammed on your field while you just watch your stadium empty out and have people in the thread marveling at how bad you really are. I just wish other people didn't have to see it.
I know it is a difficult school to feel sympathic for, but it really does suck to be this consistently poor at football of late and still be constantly derided for poor attendance and being in a conference that was our only lifeboat
Do people think we want this? Why are people acting like it was our choice to do this? We KNOW people don't want to come watch us. Would YOU?????? Every time people shit on us I just wonder why. What do you get? We suck! We know this! We're everyone's goddamn punching bag and it just gets on my nerves because everyone's like "football's better when nerdy schools are good" and then takes their sixteenth consecutive dump on how many fans we can draw to the stadium or our NIL budget or the conference we play in. Can everyone just shut the fuck up and be original for once? We get it. We suck.
You wanna talk about it? It’s just a game. And the comments are from random internet people. I get your frustration, but I hope this post is just for the randos and it’s not actually getting you this down.
They will hate you when you win, they will hate you when you lose, they will hate you when you sale out games and hate you when you have no fans at games. Just understand that most of that hate isn’t about football or even Stanford
Keep supporting your program and if you can, go to the games if you can
Gotcha. Does Cal get all the same hate? I feel like Cal is more beloved than Stanford. And it feels like recently Stanford has become more associated with their prominent evil billionaires doing visible evil billionaire things.
I’m here on r/cfb right now, but I stepped away for a while in the past when I realized it was messing with my emotions. this place can be OK for discussions, but like most of Reddit, it’s just full of people doing the same low-IQ regurgitated jokes behind anonymous names.
it sucks to watch your team lose and know what kind of stuff you’re going to read about it from people who don’t care one way or another, just trying to get voted up. the variable you can change there is just not coming here anymore. then if they lose, they lose, and you are zen and you go enjoy your life and try again next weekend.
I thought the offensive playcalling was actually pretty good today tbf. Obviously they just got out-talented and had everything go against them early on, but I don't think they'll be too bad.
Yeah. To me this game said a lot more about how good Miami is than how bad Stanford is. Stanford may be bad but this isn’t the gauge for them given how good Miami is.
I think they really leaned into the quick passing game to give their line some space to work with. It really started to show how much the injuries have affected them as the game went on. Those kids were busting their ass trying to keep the qb upright.
Someone at Stanford needs to convince one of their tech billionaire alums to throw some pocket change at the school and buy them the best roster in the sport.
I'm hoping a billionaire does it for a mac school and makes everyone else mad. Doesn't even have to be Bowling Green just not Toledo. Imagine Eastern Michigan with a 20 million dollar roster
you're not good yet, but better to watch your stadium empty out than be empty like that team down south. You guys have real fans and it'll turn around eventually
Whats crazy is watching this game, your Oline was just giving up so many penalties. Your QB looked legit, WRs need to calm down on the drops but all in all you wont face many D Lines with speed like you saw today.
I feel like it has to be worse because it doesn't have to be that way. Stanford administration doesn't seem to care about football or making concessions to be competitive.
But like from 2010-2018 you had 5 top 10 finishes with six 10 win seasons with 3 conference titles.
The sport changed and Stanford didn't and it really makes no sense.
Look I do get your frustration, but you guys had a decade of very good/elite football. 4 Heisman finalists in that time, 3 conference championships, 2 Rose Bowl wins, and a partridge in a pear tree. I know things have sucked for several years now, but you guys had an incredible run
