Introducing BTC PoW Lab Pool: Hybrid Solo rewards and an interactive mining dashboard

Upvotes

You don’t have to find the block to share in the reward.

BTC PoW Lab Pool combines solo mining with a community reward model:

  • 85% to the block finder.
  • 10% to other eligible miners.
  • 5% to BTC PoW Lab. (supports this ongoing research, testing and development, alongside pool infrastructure and operations.)

Explore the dashboard, review the rules and connect a worker →

If another miner finds a block, your eligible work can still earn a share of the community allocation. The finder is excluded from their own block’s community distribution.

Why join early? A smaller eligible community can mean fewer miners sharing that 10% allocation when a block is found. Your share depends on valid work, tier and pool composition. Community eligibility lasts seven days after your latest accepted share.

There’s active research behind this pool. Operated by Power CM Software, BTC PoW Lab has demonstrated end-to-end mining improvements for PC-based mining and is working to bring those gains to ASIC hardware. Those findings do not yet represent a demonstrated advantage for ASIC miners connected to the pool.

Our public dashboard lets you follow accepted work and inspect the reward model. Want a more interactive experience? Enable rarity events, colours and sounds based on real submitted shares. These features celebrate what your miner submits; they do not predict a block or make the next hash luckier.

The finder’s reward is assigned directly in coinbase. Community rewards follow a separate payout process after maturity, with a 546-sat minimum. Payments depend on actual block finds. There are no guaranteed daily payouts, and estimates before a block are not earned balances.

Put your ASIC to work, follow your contribution, and join the community while it’s still growing.

Fidelity for my Bitcoin?

Upvotes

I have it on Exodus now, wondering if it would be more secure to put it on Fidelity? I have a Jade cold wallet but I don't feel comfortable putting it on there. I feel like I'm going to fuck it up somehow. And now with everything else going on with cold wallets, I feel even less certain.

On my podcast ‘Bitcoin for Millennials’ I talked with André Dragosch, Head of Research at Bitwise. We discuss Bitcoin’s institutional adoption via BlackRock ETFs and social proof, why understanding bank money creation rewires the Bitcoin thesis, how financial history exposes flawed economic models, what dollar weakness and Treasury stress mean for hard assets and a Bitcoin supercycle, and why proof of work shapes conviction and sovereignty.

Expert Security Audit for three bitcoin based projects

Upvotes

Over the past few months, we’ve been putting our AI security audit agent against real Bitcoin code.

It has already helped us uncover and responsibly report multiple security issues across projects in the Bitcoin ecosystem, including:

Bark, Syscoin, RGB, Ledger, Bitcoin, Bitkey, BDK Wallet, Keystone, Lightning Labs, Lightning implementations, Krux, KTH, BitBox, BCHD, Mostro, ACINQ, LDK, Cake Wallet, BIP32/BIP39 implementations, tiny-secp256k1, Blockstream Jade, Elements and others.

Now we want to go further.

We’re giving 3 Bitcoin projects a security scan at zero cost.

We’ll run our agent against the codebase, manually triage anything interesting, and responsibly disclose confirmed security issues to the maintainers.

We’re particularly interested in serious open-source Bitcoin infrastructure protecting real users or funds.

Maintaining something in the Bitcoin ecosystem? Drop your repo below.

10 Years Ago Bitcoin Was $610. Where Will It Be in 2036?

Post image
Upvotes

10 years ago today, Bitcoin was ~$610.

Nobody knew if it would survive.

Today, it’s ~$80,000.

Now imagine someone posting this on September 6, 2036:

“Bitcoin was only $80K back in 2026.”

What do you think the number will be?

$100K? $500K? $1M? $5M?

RemindMe! 10 years. 👀

Native BTC payments vs gift car middlemen, Are we adding unnecessary friction?

Upvotes

A lot of people say I spend my Bitcoin, but often that means buying a gift card through a third party and using that at a retailer. Gift cards are a useful workaround, but they also introduce some problems. You often pay extra fees or premiums on top of the actual value, deal with managing codes, balances, and different accounts, and give more personal information to platforms that track your activity.

If Bitcoin is going to work as money, direct merchant adoption matters. Paying businesses directly removes unnecessary layers and keeps more value inside the actual transaction.

What are some real world services you use that accept BTC directly instead of relying on gift card platforms?

Calculators

Upvotes

Why is july 2010 the earliest date that many bitcoin calculators websites allow to calculate? Not early july but like mid july of that year... Why is this? Why would this be the case? Was paypal the least riskiest and most practical way to buy any desired amount of btc this early on?

Localbitcoins

Upvotes

Hey folks,

Thinking this might be a lost cause bit thought I'd reach out to see if anyone had any advice.

I did a bit of BTC trading over a decade ago using localbitcoins.com, stopped for whatever reason with a small remaining balance of probably pennies at the time and since forgot about it.

I recently got access again to an omd email domain that I use dfor this, to find a stream of messages from localbitcoins telling me to log in and withdraw remaining balance as they were due to close the domain.

Logged in to see the pennies had inflated to a value of roughly £2900, great! I tried to withdraw but was told I would need to go through ID verification, so did that. The was told my account was locked and I would have to open a support ticket to unlock to withdraw balance, so I did that.

The next day I get an email from their support to say I need to contact the Finnish Bureau of Investigation, as they have seized the domain and all customer funds as part of their investigation into the site. Since then localbitcoins is returning a bad gateway error when I try to access it. Sent an email to the contact provided minus any personal info, but my heckles are up, something doesn't feel right.

Thinking I've been scammed, that the whole verification thing was to harvest my data and the email to "Finnish authorities" is gonna be another attempt to get me to pay some phony withdrawal fee. The domains for both the website and the Finnish bureau of investigations email are legit though, so don't think it's a case of a spoof domain.

Very confusing, got a strong feeling I've lost that bitcoin just as soon as I've rediscovered it, guess I should count my blessings it's money I didn't think I had anyway, but wondered if anyone had similar experiences, can offer advice to actually get it back if I can, or even just confirm that this is indeed an attempt to scam me.

Thanks!

Bitcoin buy in

Upvotes

Hi guys! I’m fairly new to crypto and I’m trying to learn as much as I can before making any big decisions.
For those of you who are currently buying Bitcoin, are you still buying at these prices, or are you waiting for some kind of pullback?
I’ve been debating whether I should wait for another drop, potentially somewhere around $72k–$74k, before buying in. Is that a dumb way of thinking? I know nobody can predict the exact bottom, but I’m trying to maximize my potential returns.
At the same time, I feel like I’m starting to fixate on finding the “perfect entry,” which I know probably isn’t a great mindset either.
Would love to hear how you guys are approaching BTC right now, especially if you’ve been through a few cycles. Do you DCA, wait for pullbacks, or just buy when you think the long-term price is good?
Thanks!

I do not care about self-custody (dangerous, so I use Fidelity custody) or censor-less transactions (I live in the U.S. and can trade freely)

Made a Bitcoin monitoring app with some extra Claude tokens

Upvotes

I had some extra tokens at the end of one of my reset periods and decided to build a fun little hackermans Bitcoin site.

A couple cool things on there:

  • A calculator if you want to do dynamic DCA - you can see at what risk metric you'd be buying and selling and tweak the settings to your liking. Based on the daily budget you provide it, it'll give you the $ amount to buy (I've actually been using this as a guide to my DCAs)
  • A space battle visualization of the bitcoin price with buys and sells
  • Some other cool visualizations of nodes, blocks, fair market value, and many more things

There are a lot of fun themes built in as well, let me know if you have some ideas for things that can be added!

Just a project for fun and wanted to share!

Why can’t bears just accept that the bottom is in

Upvotes

The bottom is in. 57k was the absolute bottom and we still have the same cringe bears crying uh my October bottom. Uh my 40k. IT is NEVER going to those levels again. The federal reserve will not hike the interest rates. The clarity act will pass. We will be at 100k in October not 40k. The big boys will continue to just liquidate every short possible. It annoys me that the bears are still whining. We are here to MAKE money not lose it.
