Online UBI Simulator
You might be interested in an Online UBI Simulator for Scotland. It lets you set up a UBI, and change taxes to pay for it. You can then explore the consequences for the people of Scotland - who gains and loses, changes in poverty, inequality and incentives to work. It uses a new microsimulation model of scotland.

Question Where did this strange idea of UBI leading to "less fulfillment" come from?
This is one I keep seeing on arguments against UBI, that it will lead to people living without jobs (itself that, majority-wise, has been demonstrated to be false) and not having "fulfillment." Has anyone making that argument worked at a modern job? Because I can tell you that a majority of jobs I have had are even less "fulfilling" than sitting around staring at the ceiling (especially for the pay and "benefits" they offer if you can call them that), let alone doing the things I like to do that corporate entities have no interest in paying someone for doing (art, game development, composing, etc). Even the most conservative redneck person surely can see the appeal of getting paid to work on their truck or something like that that actually gives some personal satisfaction rather than being squeezed to give someone else more money, so what gives?

Indirect "100% VA Disability is Medicare for All and Universal Basic Income Rolled Into One"
So I'm not sharing a link because I don't know if it's appropriate for this group, but I just watched an Instagram video of a disabled veteran who is a comedian. At one point he says the title of the post, and then goes on to list the benefits of being a 100% disabled veteran.
It's illegal for him to be homeless (as in illegal to not provide him with a home)
Free medical care
Basic living allowance, indexed to inflation
This is the big one: Impossible to reduce or end.
And here's the punchline:
Why is it impossible to reduce or end? Because even the shittiest Marine can hit a body-sized target from five football fields away, 10 times a minute.
Not advocating violence, but definitely food for thought. 🤔

Call to Action Take Action: Ask Your Representative to Support the BOOST Act
If, like me, you support providing people with a broad cash supplement financed by higher taxes on those with higher incomes, please let your congressional representative—and candidates for Congress—know.
The BOOST Act of 2025 (H.R. 6236), introduced by Representative Rashida Tlaib, would provide $250 per month to most adults ages 19 through 67. The payments would not be taxable or counted in determining eligibility for programs such as SNAP or housing assistance. The bill would help finance the payments through an additional tax on higher incomes.
It is a modest but important step toward basic income. It would establish the principle that regular, broadly distributed cash payments can provide greater economic security—and that the benefits of our economy should be more widely shared. The bill is quite cleverly designed.
You can read Representative Tlaib’s summary of the BOOST Act here.
You can find your representative and contact information at Congress.gov.
Ask your representative to cosponsor and support H.R. 6236, and let them know that you support basic income. Whatever form of basic income you ultimately favor, building visible support for concrete legislation is how we begin moving the idea forward.
If you contact your representative, leave a quick “Done” below. And if you receive a response, please come back and tell us what they say.
Thanks!
