Spent an evening getting a shell on my Fold 8 and debloating it. Two things wasted my time that I haven't seen mentioned much, so posting in case it saves someone else the trouble.

**LADB and Shizuku conflict.** Half the guides out there tell you to grab LADB as your post-reboot Shizuku helper. Its own README says it's incompatible with Shizuku, they both want the same wireless debugging socket. Repo's archived too. Use aShell You instead, it's built to run through Shizuku.

Which leads to the second one:

**aShell and aShell You are two different apps.** aShell is by sunilpaulmathew, aShell You is by DP-Hridayan. Both real, both work, aShell You is the more actively maintained fork with more backends. But if you search "ashell" you get both and the names are close enough that you should check the source repo before installing.

**Bonus thing that confused me:** Shizuku's "Authorized applications" counter said 0 the entire time, including after everything was demonstrably working. Don't troubleshoot based on that number. Run `whoami` in your shell app. If it returns `shell` you're good, if it returns something like `u0_a783` that's the app's own UID and it isn't authorized.

If you get a UID, force stopping the shell app and reopening it fixed it for me. Seems like it can launch before Shizuku's service is ready and just quietly give up.

**One more:** if `pm list packages` throws `SecurityException: Shell does not have permission to access user 150`, nothing is broken. That's a Knox container (Secure Folder or work profile) and shell can't see into it. Add `--user 0` to your commands.

Also worth knowing that my Shizuku survived reboots without any intervention, which the docs say shouldn't happen on a non-rooted device. Apparently Android 13+ has a trusted-WiFi auto-start path. So test yours before assuming you need the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS workaround.

Pretty much title. I like Sleep in principle but I noticed some weird things. Like it wants me to purchase premium with 75% off, but when I click on it the app crashes? Also, the alarm today straight up didn't go off (I happened to be awake earlier, thankfully) and neither did the sleep time reminder the last few evenings.

My home screen 1st page is absolutely filled with icons and widgets and i actually need more widgets on it😅

Hey everyone, I'm a professional musician and a lot of times I'll write out charts by hand then take a pic of them to get em on my tablet. However, the stock android photo app rotates my photos and puts them into landscape mode like 85% of the time and I have to go in and rotate them back. It's SUPER annoying, is there any app that only takes photos in portrait mode? Or is there a way to make the stock photo app not rotate my pic all the time? Thanks for your help.

I'm looking for an app that I can use to record a Voice memo, and then I can set a time where it can play it back just like the basic Alarm Clock app on phone, where the alarm "music" is instead the real time memo from earlier.

I know I can just record in voice recorder and then insert the recording into the alarm yadda yadda, but the more steps to the process the less likely i am to fiddle with it for more than 3 occasions.

I need this because i have ADHD, and if its out of sight then its out of mind. I've burnt, frozen, lost, ruined and damaged things before due to this, and I'd like to find the most comfortable way to prevent that in the future. Regular alarms with text wont work, because having to type it all out is the same issue, and i dont even have too many character spaces in my favored alarm app anyways (maybe like 25 characters?)

I need something:

- Simple - as little extra functions and flare as possible

- Ideally no unnecessary AI (i dont need summaries, I dont need an assistant, leave me ALONE)

- Free, no subscription or purchases. It should be a super simple straight to the point app.

I'm asking because I just downloaded The PlayerPro Music Player App yesterday and I noticed that 7 songs are missing/got deleted from there even though I didn't delete them myself and all of them were there at the beginning then randomly got deleted. Is that normal? Or does that mean that the app itself is corrupted? Should I just delete the app now just to be safe? Has this happened to anyone else before? Hey everyone! I’m an iOS user, and I currently use apps like Watusi 3 (WhatsApp) and Regram (Instagram), which are generally considered pretty safe.
My best friend has an S23 Ultra and would like to have similar features, but I honestly have no idea which Android apps are safe nowadays. I’m stuck in the GBWhatsApp era, and, ironically, I actually ended up using an infected version back then.
So, what would you guys recommend? What are the safest alternatives for WhatsApp and Instagram on Android?
And most importantly: where is it safe to download them from? Are there any trusted websites or repositories you would recommend?

I am on multiple job groups on telegram or WhatsApp and sometimes the exact same job gets posted to multiple groups/channels, is there an app that could potentially hide the notifications for the same job that's already been posted, basically something like a filter for notifications where when you get 2-3 almost identical notifications the 2nd and 3rd one get hidden/not shown?

I'm looking for an Android kiosk browser for a tablet that will be used by other people.

I don't need a normal browser with a fullscreen option. I need something closer to a proper browser lockdown.

The requirements are:

• stay in kiosk mode
• ideally clear browsing/session data between users

I've come across Fully Kiosk and a few other kiosk browser apps, but I'm curious what people are actually using in 2026.

Hi there, I have an issue with an application and a laser engraver. The application is no longer working and is freezing and crashing, I have tried a restart, clean install etc and still the same, anyway I have spoken to the company for the engraver and app (laserpecker) and they wanted me to send a video, pictures and application logs for the issue.

I managed to send them a video and photos but my question is how do I send them the logs and log file they keep asking for as I am confused and never had to do it before so am not sure how or where I get them from ?
